"The reservation process was tedious, not because they're slumped with customers but because they don't have anyone else to replace when the reservationist is on holiday. Other than that, a 3-Michelin star restaurant exceeds novice assumptions of a 3-Michelin star restaurant. Service is superb. Timing is impeccable. Every movement is a synchronised performance, serving and opening the dishes altogether. The harmonised flavours of each course are evocative. The restaurant's ambience was breath-taking. I wish it could run for even more than 4 hours. I suggest you arrive early and sample their signature and award-winning cocktails at the hotel's bar. Chef Peter Knogl finished his performance by speaking to all the diners one table after the other. Cheval Blanc is an experience you need ticking off your bucketlist ASAP! P.S. The most stunning thing I have noticed is the switching of languages in just a snap from one table to the other by the staff; English, German, French then back to English for my table. I'm not sure if I heard Italian but most definitely the three aforementioned languages. Totally mind-blowing!"

"I went to this restaurant like I go to a museum with the interest of discovering a foreign world. It's the world of my childhood which I'm glad burned. The large room is paneled with dark wood, there are geraniums on the terrace, and Aromat and liquid seasoning (not Maggi) are on the table as always. The vegetable rösti was good, although the portion was far too small. Whether frozen vegetables really have to be used in such museum style restaurants probably so. It doesn't matter, the hash browns and vegetables were tasty. The open beer was fresh and also tasted very good. A real ray of hope in this post war wasteland was the waiter, who although he spoke perfect Basel German and had a typically Swiss friendliness was recognizable as a secondo. The price was lower midrange and okay for once. The toilets worked."

"Very nice pizza!! timely delivery. One of the few pizza places open on Sunday afternoon. Open until late night. There are alcoholic beverages that can be ordered, also on their website!!"

"We are passing through Basel and stopped to see the city. As its lunch time so looking for an eatery at the heart of the Altstadt and we see Anatolia restaurant. Decided to go in and what a pleasant surprise it was. Vuraal, the waiter was very helpful and we ended with a great meal. My lamb chops were cooked to perfection. Rarely tested such good grill teller. And the decor was very pleasant too. It's a must visited restaurant."

"I was fairly a regular customer for the take away lunch menu. At least thrice a week. My office is right across this restaurant. For the past days I observed that the quantity is reducing. It happened today as well. So took back the box to ask about the reduction in quantity. To which, the owner took the take away box inside and hurled abuses at me in Hindi! He came back and handed over my take away box to me. I just kept the box back on his desk and I left. Never Again!!"

"Popped in here for a quick drink before catching a flight. Staff were very welcoming friendly. We didn’t want anything to eat the staff were fine about that. The food that we did see being served to other tables looked brilliant though, huge portions that smelt amazing. Nice atmosphere."

"Wir haben online um 19:58 Uhr bestellt und 2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet. Es wurde um 22:00 Uhr geliefert...ausserdem stand auf dem Kassenzettel das es um 20:58 hätte geliefert werden sollen! Ausserdem war das Essen schon kalt. Geschmacklich war es ganz okay. Obwohl so abgemacht erfolgte die Lieferung nicht vor der Haustür und war nicht Kontaktlos. Es wurde auch keine Maske getragen. Sehr schade aber so werde ich bei Mels Bar and Dinner nicht mehr bestellen!"

"Order placed online at 9:15 p.m., delivery time stated as 45 minutes. At 10 p.m. the message came that delivery was canceled. Without reasons. That's not possible, make the customer wait first and then cancel after 45 minutes... edit @Owner: Thanks for your answer. The situation is somehow strange, other restaurants were able to continue delivering without any problems. Be that as it may; It would have been nice if you had still sought contact in this case and justified the cancellation as you have done here. There remains a pale aftertaste, but I have now increased the rating to 3 stars in order to reward your efforts to clarify the matter."

"There is no special gluten-free menu, but most dishes are labeled gluten-free (and usually vegan or vegetarian). Cooking is very good! All employees were able to provide all necessary information and without asking, I got my own gluten-free bread (baked in the restaurant). Perfect! It felt great to be able to choose from different dishes. I didn't get sick, so no cross-contamination at all! Great restaurant."

"Can’t really say it was bad but as a core pizza lover, I’m not convinced we can call those pizzas. They look like it but their food is more like an ode to veganism and super healthy eating, which again is not really my thing. Space is great and rather big with great staff. Service was effective although it was not super busy for lunch."
