"Today I visited Bartaco on Marietta Street and had one of the most disappointing experiences ever. Despite the restaurant being unusually slow, I was only offered seating outside in 90° weather because their refusal to offer the massive open seating inside. (Managers) please understand that at some juncture you actually have to do work so if you’re short-staffed, you may want to consider picking up a table or two. Not only are these limited options a liability for the restaurant, but it also poses a significant inconvenience for customers like me. The service here has drastically declined. Owners need to consider sending in secret shoppers to address the subpar customer service that is becoming far too common here. I noticed an open booth in a section staffed but was refused that option. Turning away customers is never a wise business decision, just because someone called ahead to be put on a waitlist for seating that may never appear or appear on-time. I didn't realize that this location allowed reservations at this time of day. As a long-term customer, today's experience has made me decide to discontinue my patronage. It's unfortunate to see a place I once enjoyed visiting fall to such poor standards. The host needs to also work on his poor attitude. If you didn’t want to come to work today with a smile, maybe you should’ve stayed home."

"Listen, I know that you can see by my reviews that I can be critical. But when I spend $150 on a meal, I would like for it to be good. I didn’t realize that this restaurant was attached to a nursing home. I feel like for the residents of a nursing home, this food is probably OK. But, Outside of a nursing home, this was no bueno. The thing about tomato sauce is, when it’s fresh, it’s never brown. I attached a picture so you can see for yourself, but I was a little confused as to whether this was tomato sauce or barbecue sauce all over the chicken Parmesan. Brown tomato sauce means it’s old. There’s no other way around it. So this is either being made days ahead and frozen and then thawed and reheated, or it’s just being left sitting for hours on end, but either way it is not fresh, and it is overrun with salt . The wait staff was friendly, but I’m not sure why they’re serving unchilled sparkling water on a day where it’s 93° out at 8 PM and the humidity index is through the roof. Also, I realize that when you’re sitting outside, you’re exposing yourself to the elements. But large ants crawling all over our feet while you are eating means that some level of pesticide is needed. Anyway, like I said, the wait staff was friendly, and if I had known that this was a nursing home we wouldn’t have gone. And as far as nursing homes go, I’m sure this would be viewed as acceptable. But outside of a nursing home it just isn’t. And if I’m wrong, and for some crazy reason, this isn’t a nursing home, then pardon me. But the smell in the lobby and the elevator reeked of assisted-living facility."

"First, when I made the reservation the indication on Open Table was that there was limited availability. As soon as I made the reservation, I received a phone call from the restaurant that very aggressively wanted to make sure that I was sure I would be able to make it and that I would be there on time. They did make me aware that there was a limited menu, however they could not tell me what was on the menu and told me I should check the write up in the local newspaper for the Best Places for dinner on Valentine 's Day for the menu. We arrived about 20 minutes early and the restaurant was basically empty. We were seated immediately. The restaurant slowly filled up over the 90 minutes that we were at our table, but nowhere near filled up to justify the limited reservation times and initial call to confirm the reservation. From there they had a limited choice of wine by the glass and the one my wife chose was $25 per glass with a very small pour. The appetizers were good. Both my wife and I got the crab cakes. The entrees were poor. I had the half smoked chicken and it was over cooked and very dry. My wife had the beef tenderloin and it was also overcooked. I got the red velvet cake for dessert and it was average. Fortunately my wife got the creme brulee and it was good so we ended on a fairly positive note. Big disappointment for what you would expect from a high end hotel restaurant and a Valentine 's Day dinner."
