"Whoa. Call me Guy Fieri because I just went to Flavortown. I tried Avenue East for the first time this evening and it totally blew me out of the water. We ordered two spicy tuna rolls 5.50), an eel avocado roll 5.50), a shrimp tempura roll 5.50), a chicken teriyaki entree 13.95), pan fried chicken dumplings 5.95), the buddha's feast entree 9.50), and the house lo mein 9.95). Pretty much all of it was excellent and I have no complaints.I have to start by singing the praises of the sushi. Seriously, it was spectacular and on par with any best sushi joints I've been to. There was a generous amount of fish and eel in each piece, and the rolls practically melt in your mouth. Totally worth it! The dumplings were awesome, too, and even though there was a sauce on the side, it wasn't even necessary as the dumplings were replete with flavor. I'd order them again in a heartbeat.I was also pleasantly surprised by the lo mein. It had beef, chicken, shrimp... and all in abundance. Big, plump pieces of shrimp scattered among shreds of flavorful beef... I'm still thinking about it! Solid choice you can't go wrong.Lastly, while I didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't speak to kitchen speeds or anything like that, I did meet Steve, the owner, and he was very polite and friendly. Really a nice guy!I don't know what other people leaving negative reviews are talking about but I can't wait to get Avenue East again."

"My wife and I visited River and Rail for the first time and were blown away. We we told about it from a family member and decided to try it out. We liked the fact that it is authentic Mexican food vs a fast food or authentic want to be kind of place. First of all, the service was excellent. We had a waiter named John and he was very friendly, had a lot of information for us when asking questions, he really knew what the restaurant has to offer. He was very attentive and helpful. First we tried the margaritas. They are know for their signature/unique margaritas and they were excellent. I had the spicey Off the Rails and my wife had a Strawberry. The Off the Rails was very good and spicey, never had a spicey drink. If you like spicey foods, you will love this margarita When the food came we were amazed on the quantity we received. More importantly, the food was amazing. I had the grilled chicken fajitas and my wife had the pollo Limon. Of course we tried each others food and were impressed. Like I said, the serving sizes were large and we took the left overs home. They did not last past the next day! For dessert we got the fried ice cream and shared it, again a large size. That we did finish, it was too good not to!The only negative thing I can say is about their selection of hot sauces. I love spicey food and love to add hot sauce. They do offer several options, however they are all Tabasco brand. For an authentic Mexican restaurant, they only offer an American brand hot sauce. They really need to offer authentic Mexican hot sauces as well. But this is a very small negative point.I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Mexican food and wants it done right or to anyone who is looking to try something new. It is in a nice location, but parking in the street is scarce, however, there is a parking garage close by.I suggest you go and enjoy!!"
