"We drove an hour and a half and were not disappointed. Metal meets Meat!! Ambience , if you know who Iron Maiden, Amon Amarth or Testament is, or if you’re excited for Slayer possibly getting back together , then you found your spot. Friendly service , clean location but you probably want to know about the food!! Easily one of the best BBQ joints i have found in Michigan so far! It’s not without faults but let’s get to the good stuff first. Two of the most boring meats in the BBQ game that are often dry and require way too much sauce are , Turkey and Pulled chicken. To my surprise these were fantastic and actually their Smoked Chicken wings were some of the best i have ever had. Winner! Huge, moist, delicious and a delicate bit of smoke so not to overwhelm the meat. I’ll be back for these again soon. Pulled pork, having just come from 2 weeks in the Carolina’s I can say this rivaled most I had tried. Smokey , salty and delicious. Sauces- I’m a bit of a purist and don’t traditionally use sauces but they had a fantastic assortment ranging from a tangy Mop sauce, vinegar mustard to my absolute favorite Spicey Garlic. Think Franks with a kick of garlic. While not a traditional BBQ sauce , i would put that on toast if had some, Fantastic. The one drawback and this was surprising for sure was the brisket. Good bark and clear smoke ring, but it was tough , dry and lacked flavor. It was cut very thick and we chose the flat but brisket should pull apart gently and this was more like burnt end pot roast. We had multiple sides some misses but mostly hits, standouts were the BBQ beans and the Roasted broccoli salad. Delicious. Overall i’m putting this as my number 2 BBQ restaurant, just behind Satchels in Ann Arbor and will 100% be back . Worth the drive!!!"
