"I was there last night with a 10 top for a birthday party. It was the Otis party. Anyway the food and atmosphere and everything was good but our server was just really rude and short with us, not very personable. I work in the service industry and it just seemed like he probably shouldn’t be serving if that’s how he interacts with his tables. I don’t know if he was just mad about something or what it was but if he was it definitely showed. We didn’t let it ruin the experience for us but it certainly made me wish I had chose a different restaurant for my birthday dinner."

"Everyone in Kentucky knows Malone’s and how it is one of the most premium restaurants to go to. They mainly take reservations, however, so make sure to book ahead of time! The dishes are pricy, but the food is consistently delicious and the portions are large! My fiancé has taken me here on many date nights, and I’ve brought him here for his birthdays! The restaurant is beautifully laid out with both regular and booth seating options, fancy lighting, two revolving doors to both enter and exit, and a nice bar. This location is directly connected to its sister restaurant, OBC, which offers more casual faire. Our servers were both kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. I can tell they are at the top of their game working at a place as lovely as this! For appetizers, they give you a piping hot, large serving of bread and butter, which was good both times. We also got the Crab Dip on one of our visits, which was super creamy and delicious for dipping. We have also gotten their salads, the Lexingtonian and the Caesar, both which were fresh and satisfying. Each time for my main I have gotten the Chicken Linguini. The white wine butter rosemary sauce is seriously otherworldly and one of the BEST dishes I have ever had in my life, PERIOD. The chicken was super tender and the pasta was a perfect al dente. My fiancé got their filet mignon three ways and thoroughly enjoyed it. I bought the $115 Wagyu Ribeye steak for my fiancé for his birthday, and it was one of the best steaks he’s ever had. He described it as “meat butter” as every piece just melted in his mouth. The portion was also large, 16. oz! I had to make sure he didn’t go into a food coma! For dessert, we have gotten their chocolate chip cookie (a large, shareable cookie that comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and chocolate and caramel drizzle), which was melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious. It was free on my fiancé’s birthday! On our second visit I got their cheesecake with raspberry jam, and that was heaven! This place is THE spot for your fancy nights out with friends, family, and partners. I know we will be coming back here soon for more!"

"Got takeaway lunch for my wife and I today. I got the classic gyro, add feta and she got the gyro bowl with 2 sides and hummus. The gyro was a hearty portion and very tasty, but it would have been nice to have the feta broken up instead of in one solid triangle. It was also very oily and got really messy towards the end. The gyro bowl was good but the sides and hummus left a little to be desired. The sides picked were the lemon potatoes which were decent, and the greens beans which were very soft and could easily have been canned. The hummus was also very lemony, which was add, not terrible but not our favorite. All in all will try again but with other side options. Cute and bright on the inside as well!"

"We stayed at Griffin Gate Hotel when the power went out. By chance we stumbled on this little secret gem. The online menu does not even get close to all that is offered on a chalkboard by the bar. I had the Cod Crack and my husband the grilled pork chop where they ask if you’d like one or 2? The sides to choose from are never ending. Amazing food in a tiny little place most would pass by. "Arrived during a storm...so it was a bit of an unsettling start...but our expectations were possibly too high, given our marvelous experience here in April 2022. This time, however, things went poorly. My brother ordered a NY Strip med rare, and I ordered a filet med . Someone else ordered the halibut. First, when the food arrived, the waiter was no where to be found. He never inquired as to the state of our steaks... 2nd, my brother's strip was over cooked, more like a medium well, and my filet was barely rare. The halibut was similarly over done. I flagged down a waitress running about to have the filet heated up a bit (it came back imperceptibly more done) .. I could only imagine that the cook was unwilling perhaps to cook a filet above rare? In any event, for the price of these steaks, I would have been way ahead with a mail order Gold grade 6oz Snake River Farms ribeye filet, at $63, than the 8oz filet here at $53. That's even wagyu! except that's not always practical while traveling. All in all, the experience was totally underwhelming, and we were disappointed, given how superb the evening was in 2022. Perhaps it was just a bad day in the kitchen?"

"Lexington, KY and the general central KY area have a much more diverse food scene now than when I moved there 9 years ago. Part of the success of many small ethnic eateries in the area have been the warmth of service and the demand for variety in an area that has had cultural homogeneity for a very long time. Given how lovingly my hundreds of friends in the area embrace and welcome new businesses serving diverse food, I was surprised to hear the restaurant was not doing so well. One look through their social media accounts and responses to Google reviews, and I understood the problem clearly. If their service was even half as dedicated as their attempts at snarky responses to dissatisfied customers are, if they truly wanted to immerse themselves in the loving and hardworking city of Lexington instead of thinking their culinary expertise from posh food tours and metropolises is somehow too good for Kentuckians, and if their whiny attitude toward criticism was turned into mindful note-taking, I would feel really bad for them. However, it is crystal clear that they are now drinking the (Ceylon) tea they chose to brew. Oh well..."

"This was our first time in so we did not know what to expect. We stood waiting for seat for around 5 minutes, got sat and waited a bit for our sodas. We were greeted by our server (did not say his name) but he had such great energy. We talked with him for a few minutes, learning he is a new server there. We placed our order and even tho he could not pronounce the meals or salads correctly, he made up for it with his laughter (he laughed at himself and it was awesome to see). I've been in restaurant industry all my life so I could relate to him, I felt his nerves, I felt his need to be perfect, I saw so much of me at 17/18 in him. The food was buy far some of the best in the area and the prices are perfect. The meal sizes do not leave you hungry. We will be back not only for the food but to see how much the server has grown and learned. Awesome time!!!! Thank you"

"The food was really good, salmon was incredible. Best onion rings we ever had. The most bizarre place i’ve ever sat down at. We were in these weird tiny tables by closed windows above head level, directly next to some couple and their kids. I got a cocktail and was promptly plastered off half of it I have a high alcohol tolerance and just wanted a martini (so very strong drinks, good if that’s what you’re looking for). Our waiter shakily handed me my drink after we watched him drop and pretended nothing happened. This was right after spilling water everywhere trying to fill my glass. Really nice guy though. Strange, uncomfortable vibe, great food."

"Friday out I stopped by to grab some food and the woman and young boy are there they take my order and I’m almost at the register to pay food done and the husband walks in and speaks another language and tell the son to tell my two children and toy poodle they have to wait outside. I cancelled the entire finished order! He didn’t even ask if it was a service animal and as I said we were at the register. I guess they have inventory and food to waste. "I had Smithtown Seafood for the first time this weekend and was very pleased. I rarely eat fish, but made this an exception and I'm glad I did. I had the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly flaky and had a very tasty breading. The portion size was also much larger than I expected. The fries were good. I was a bit disappointed in the hushpuppies. They were dense and didn't have the flavor profile that I look for in a good hushpuppy. They were still serviceable, though. My partner had the Oyster Mushroom Po'Boy and said it was amazing. The bread was overflowing, to the point that it was an impressive feat for her just to keep everything contained so she could eat it. I will definitely be returning in the future. I already know that on my next visit I will be trying the friend catfish."
