"Brilliant spot. I love the pad see ew and evil prince curry here, but you basically can’t go wrong. They won’t make fun of you for ordering the pad thai or yakisoba, or asking for it not too spicy. But if you want Thai Spicy, they’ve got you there, too. Everyone is always so friendly and prices are good.Pro tip: eat here! Don’t let your food lose its best minutes of life in a container inside a bag. Dine in (there is seating outside if you observe restrictions on indoor eating for covid safety)! The food is best right out of the kitchen and on a plate. If you ever have a bad time here, it’s surely a rare bad day— I keep coming back because it’s always lovely."

"It may be vegan, but it is stellar regardless! For the unfamiliar folks, it is a self serve tablet to place your order. The only reason I give it 4s for service/atmosphere is because it's just too dang small for how popular it is. There is a great shared seating outdoor area, but there is often a line out the door along with others just waiting for their order. Parking for the area can be a bit tedious too"

"Bao Bao is my pregnancy craving godsend. I love coming in here for a quick snack. Of the 10+ times I’ve been in, service is always quick, the buns are consistently yummy, and the place is clean and low key. It’s hard to find vegetarian baozi outside of China and the mushroom one here slays. I am pretty surprised at some of the reviews because I have had a consistently good experience here and I’m generally hard to please. I finally tried the take home buns and they are also perfect (and a great deal). For a casual and quick lunch spot, Bao Bao is hard to beat in my opinion."

"I had this place recommended to me, and the hype was very much deserved. The food tastes as good as it looks, and for dessert, treat yourself to their amazing horchata. Got a sampler platter, and everything on it was worth it: especially anything with cheese! Service was excellent and speedy, and it is definitely worth checking out. I went out of my way to try this place, and it did not disappoint. Two thumbs way up."

"Gave this place a try while visiting from MA. The vegan pizza is legit… and I’m not vegan! The kale was perfectly delicate, flavorful, and crispy and the sauce packed a little bit of a spicy heat that lingered. Wish I had more time in the city to go back. Thanks!"

"I’ve had many good meals here over the years, and their pastries are some of the best! Unfortunately, came here for the usual birthday meal and was sorely disappointed. They had a surprise rush and both our food came out burnt, and not tasting great at all. I are what I could and didn’t take the rest home. It was obvious that the cook was stressed and just turned our meals up on high high heat to finish faster… This was disappointing, but on top of that, after we ordered our dishes, the server asked if we wanted croissants. Am I mistaken that in the past croissants were free with several of the dishes? (Like a side)? She upsold us croissants without alerting us that she’d charge us. When the bill came it was just too much on top of everything else. 9$ for our two croissants… please note-when you offer guests something right after they order their dishes, it seems like you are asking them to choose their side… if you offer something before they’ve ordered, it will be clear that you are offering to upsell them"

"This is a portland institution that has seen better days. We had a reservation for 6:30 but were told they were booked and we would have to wait. Then another couple came in, said the same thing to a different hostess and got seated right away. I spoke up and she just looked confused. We waited 20 minutes more for a table. The hostesses seemed very disorganized along with the servers. No one filled our glasses, we received no need, never could get a servers attention for refills even though there seemed to be a ton of staff running around. Our food was good but overpriced for the ambiance. The decor needs updated and the ceiling tiles are just dirty. We will not go back."

"Outstanding food, drinks and service, and a very pleasant atmosphere. We've seldom had such a great Indian meal. We'll definitely be back. The only slight downside, which is not at all the restaurant's fault, is its location right across the street from the Central Library. The homeless panhandling situation is even more intense than some other parts of downtown, which is saying something."

"The gyros are terrific, as is the Fatoush Salad. The fries are shaped like ruffle potato chips, but have a softer texture, like french fries. Portions are generous. We will most definitely order again from this restaurant!"

"Update 8/24 BLUF: Sorry, I will not be dining here again. For $130 lunch had on of the least memorable meals ever. Our starter, garlic knots, were OK but nothing to write home about. Fettichini Alfredo was soupy and tasted like no Alfredo I have had round the world. Spaghetti was OK but the meatballs were way over done. Beer (Hefeweizen) and wine were both good Update 12/21 Have changed to primarily take out. Now open for lunch. Menu is all a-la-carte so a pasta and a salad can easily be $25+ with appetizers, bread (garlic knots is what they served when I asked for a side of bread with my pasta), drinks, etc. additional. Food is average. Order at the take-out bar, apparently no table service. $80+ tip for an average meal. Table cloth prices for take-out quality food. I thought our pasta dishes were on the small side. Good: Friendly and prompt service staff Good food: Well presented, with good flavors. Nice outdoor seating Off street parking My preferences: No lunch menu... out shopping but can't get a bite on my way home or early dinner. What I call white table cloth prices without the white table cloth."

"I ordered the california burrito tonight and it was DELICIOUS! So flavorful and the fries added good texture. Chips and guac were delicious as always. The quesotaco was a bit soggy but the driver had another drop off before me. I put it in the airfryer and it was perfect! They also gave me salsa and tons of napkins which I appreciated! Never have a bad meal from here!"

"I got lemongrass chicken rice noodle bowl , chicken tasted alright, rice noodle texture and cucumber was good however the pickled carrot mix had a weird taste as though over marinated , had a taste like beer. I might come back and try something different."

"Great food at a reasonable price. Our server was very sweet and the food came out quickly. There's not a lot of comfortable seating options, mainly chairs and benches outside. But you don't come here for an aesthetic experience, you come here for really good food and a quick and casual dining experience. I got the Walmart salad and Chirashi bowl and if I could have I would have eaten 2 bowls of everything. Would absolutely recommend and would come again (if I wasn't traveling from another state)."

"I love the pretty pink vibes of this place, has an inviting yet classy look inside and out. The bakery is clean and bright, with a good amount of treats to offer. They have one of the better selections of macarons that I've seen in the area, which are both aesthetically pleasing and tasty. In addition, there are a ton of baked goods and cakes. I noticed an interesting theme of Asian fusion with some offerings featuring ingredients such as Yuzu or Ube. I personally wasn't too big of a fan of their Yuzu Creme Brûlée, but it was an interesting concept. My partner and I did enjoy the Lychee Cheesecake, which was the perfect amount of sweet. There's a lot of interesting selections that I'd like to try eventually. Prices are a bit spendy but nothing ridiculous for the quality of food you get."

"A little torn today. I am a huge fan of Matt's BBQ and Matt's BBQ Tacos. But it has been a couple years since I have been to the Matt's BBQ cart because of the location. Found myself in the area today so had to stop for a brisket sandwich. They only offer that in chopped brisket now but ordered one. While the meat had an amazing flavor, I left feeling like I ate a pickle sandwich with some brisket added in. Love their pickles but.... Way too many. Matt has raised the level of BBQ in Portland but I left disappointed. It won't stop me from returning but not for a sandwich next time. Not a huge fan of their kiosk to place my own order either. I did leave a tip but I am not sure what for.

"Good outdoor seating, good indoor seating, and a nice feel in a converted home. I also love the location being tucked away in a neighborhood away from everything. Polite and friendly staff, good food and drinks, and good atmosphere will definitely return regularly A bit unconventional, but they have the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had"

"I came here to get drinks with some friends. The vibes were good. Service was excellent. The drinks were good. I had the spiciest ginger soda I've ever had. We played pool here which was fun too but the cues were all kinda beat up, some with missing bits."

"Not the first time I've been here, and definitely not the last so I figured I would finally give this place the rating it deserves. I've tried a few different things in here depending on how hungry I am. This time it was the carne asada torta, which ALWAYS hits the spot. Perfectly seasoned meat and crispy bread with veggies that pull it all together. I would also recommend the pozole verde with all the fixings. It's perfect for these cold winter days. Oh! And how could I forget my favorite snack, the jalapeño poppers! They're especially savory but not super spicy. Very tasty!!"

"I really liked the avacado Benedict! The fruit was good. I only subtracted one star because hollandaise should have some lemon juice in it and I could not detect any. Luckily, I had a lemon and I squeezed a bit over the sauce."
