"When the day is hot and you have been out exploring… What you want is an oasis and that is what the Nepali kitchen and Chai Garden is, a magical and mysterious oasis. I cannot tell you how inviting and special the place is, how you come around the corner and how welcoming and mysterious it is. I was charmed from my grizzled and scraggy beard down to the tips of my ancient old toes. The owner was beyond kind and welcoming, patient with this old and exhausted traveler. I felt transported to a far off land. I have traveled often in my life, to many exotic and distant places and so in someways, it felt like I was coming home. And the food was great. I loved the Keema Noodles and how often do you find Momo outside the mysterious lands? I found the small private tea houses charming and the gardens to be the perfect place of refuge. Nepali Kitchen is such a surprise, such a little wonder, as if you had wandered into a small novel and you were the pilgrim off on a trek to the top of a mountain, or maybe it was a dream of peace and meaning. Whatever it was the people were nice and the food was good."

"We knew upon entering, we probably should’ve just left, but had never been so we wanted to try it. Zero service had to flag someone down from the bar area. Two people that were being so loud and drunk really ruined the ambience. We ordered iced tea, and it came in the tiniest glass with no ice and tasted like dirty water. Ordered the Alfredo which came with the hardest chunks of carrots and cauliflower I have ever seen. They were basically raw just covered in sauce. There was 75 pounds of sauce and four noodles. It was not warm at all. We also got the hanger steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We got a very rubbery piece of meat with zero flavor. Mashed potatoes were OK. And broccoli. we basically had about three bites of each plate and I went up to Pay. No one asked us anything no one bothered with us. Definitely won’t return. I truly don’t understand the reviews online. I really really don’t."

"I gotta say that the Portland Sandwich Week sandwich they are serving is fantastic. Beautifully fried pork cutlet accompanied with tasty, homemade pickles and mustard on a grilled bun. Minimalism at it's best. The Barbecue burnt ends were a complete dissapoinment. I was handed my to-go bag and, as always, checked the temperature of my food. My burnt ends were cool. I just walked out of the cart court. They were busy and I was upset, so returning to complain was not going to happen. The burnt ends were also chewey with minimal bark. I may go back, but I'm not sure if they take their barbecue seriously. I hope your experience is better."

"My daughter and I stumbled across this place and loved it. The café de Olla is now one of my favorites drinks because of them. I ordered the Oregon Waffle and it was amazing. My daughter ordered the New York City which is cinnamon roll waffle. The cream cheese wasn't super sweet, making it just right for all the added toppings. Literally the BEST waffles."

"We enjoyed Portland dining week here. Loved the two entree options! Desert was really good as well. First courses were pretty good. Did not enjoy the cocktails as much as I would have liked the to for $11. Overal 4/5 stars"

"Make sure if you come during Lunch Hour and want the special click on Lunch Roll Combo when you order thru the website menu app. My partner made the mistake of ordering everything separately not seeing the Lunch Roll tab and when the bill came out we were wondering why we didn 't get the lunch special price. The server was nice enough to give us a 10% discount even though I was hoping she would just void the entire transaction and give us the right price. The 365 roll and black widow was what we got. The fried rolls were beyond delicious. Anything fried here is great. Great service. Glad I tried it."

"I come here multiple times per week and it is hands down my favorite coffee shop in the city! Everyone is super friendly and the drinks are always consistent and served quickly. I highly recommend their sweetened matcha. Thank you to the staff for being so amazing!"

"This is a great place to hang out. It can be a little loud when it’s busier so if you have sensory overload or crowd anxiety I’d recommend getting a table instead of sitting at the bar. We got a pizza, and it was divine. The ricotta was perfectly seasoned and creamy. Sauce tasted great. The flavors are great. Beers are awesome of course, I don’t know if you can go wrong with a beer here. Staff is super friendly. Loved sitting at the bar (until a BIG party sat behind us— had to bail earlier than we wanted). We had an enjoyable time and we will be back!"

"I was super excited to see a bakery in the area that offered gluten-free dairy free and vegan options since I typically go to SE Portland or Clackamas to ny favorite bakery. I have been wanting to try this Bakery for quite a while and unfortunately I was disappointed. The cupcakes were a bit overpriced, the frosting was overly sweet and even too sweet for my kids that love cupcakes. Maybe I just picked out overly sweet cupcakes. The guy working was very friendly but I think I will stick to our favorite Fat Cupcake."

"I don’t leave reviews often, but this was probably the best meal I’ve ever had from a food truck in Portland. We got the vegetarian sandwich and the chickpea torta with eggplant on the side. Perfectly seasoned, great service, highly recommend!"

"Visually stunning baked goods with ok taste. Waited 30 minutes in line in a parking lot, there's no seating so the only option is to-go. I sampled $45 worth of goods: cake, pie, cookies, bolo, artichoke danish. I would say the best was the artichoke danish but for $10.50 not worth the price. Passion poppy mango Cake slice $9) a serious disappointment for the price, fruit flavors did not come through at all and it was overly sweet. Bolo was like a dense, undercooked English muffin. Chocolate cookie was the highlight but for $5 I would go elsewhere.Overall: extremely expensive, pretty foods, taste at best mediocre, extremely long wait. Wouldn't return."

"This is, without reservation, the greatest bakery I have ever been to. Forget greatest vegan bakery—which it also is. Greatest ever. What they are doing here is changing my thinking on what is possible when it comes to plant-based baked goods, one delicious roll (or cookie, or scone) at a time. Do not skip on this place."

"This is the first place I ate in Portland when I moved here over 10 years ago, so I will always have a place in my heart for them! You can’t go wrong ordering. Everything is delicious"

"A very laid back and enjoyable place to come for deli food and coffee. Their food is high-quality (with excellent breads, cured meats, brunch fare, and savory crepes) and the owner is very friendly. Denizens also has tasty coffee (good batch brew and espresso-based drinks). Easy place to recommend!"

"Bread Ink, once a popular spot for brunch, has now become a disappointing cafeteria. While the food was enjoyable, the lack of customer service was a major drawback. The restaurant could greatly benefit from more interaction with guests. The counter service includes a 20% tip, which would be reasonable if the staff didn't require customers to get up to retrieve their food, drinks, and answer questions. If I had known this beforehand, I would have brought my own apron and tipped myself."

"Heavenly. Service, obviously incredible. Attentive wait staff, you never ever wait long, no matter the request. The steaks here are to die for, we ordered the 16 oz dry aged bone in new york mid-rare and holy sh*t, amazing. Also got the lobster tail, which they do under broiler with butter, all the drippings are put into your butter sauce. It was the epitome of the meal, i absolutely adore ringside."

"The food is really great and the fellow at the window is really friendly and will chat while waiting if not busy. The salad rolls are huge, as you can see in my picture, compared to a 12oz soda can. They are also the best I've had. Get in early as they have limited number oer day. Recommend the pad thai. The peanut sauce is amazing on both the pad thai and salad roll."

"I think this is the best restaurant in the city, and I'm simultaneously grateful (selfishly, because I can get a table) and befuddled that there's not a line out the door at all hours. I am by no means an expert, but my wife is a chef and likes trying a lot of Portland's notable restaurants, and she's in agreement with me that Rangoon Bistro beats all of them. Every single menu item is a 10/10, including the cocktails, and there are so many new and bold and exciting flavors in every dish. Whenever I go to another restaurant I regret not coming here."

"Lovely spot next to the Wonder Ballroom. Very cozy, has really great food, and always the best music playing. I’ve tried many items on the menu, but keep coming back to the nachos. There’s always great seasonal drinks and non-alcoholic options. It might be super crowded before a show so get there early. It’s a local family and things happen where they have to adjust their hours, but they always post with plenty of notice. Also they do a lot of events and fundraising donations so it’s best to follow them on social media for updates. You can even call before you go. 10/10 highly recommend!!"

"Maybe I caught them on an off day (they posted signs of closing early at 2pm). Still, I came at peak lunch time, and the 2 banh mi I ordered were inedible. The bread was so dry, almost stale, where you could’ve used them as croutons. There was minimal condiments to help alleviate this situation either. The chicken teriyaki tasted off without any significant savory soy sauce flavor but rather malodorous even? I couldn’t bear to take more than one bite. I tried the carrot and daikon inside to see if this was better and was also disappointed that it wasn’t super sweet or vinegary. The pork banh mi wasn’t any better. Perhaps stick with their coffee and pass on their sandwiches."
