"We have been trying restaurants and searching for excellent Chinese food and we have found our now favorite go to place! We had a first class experience today at Yong 's. The restaurant is full of style, warmth, rich colors and soothing music. Our server Emilie was passionate about the food (we learned that she is a foodie herself) fun and efficient. The food was over the top delicious! Perfectly made tempura shrimp sushi roll. Tasty spring roll with two homemade sauces. Asparagus and shrimp and house lo mein were expertly prepared with great depth of flavor and balance. The cook on the shrimp was spot on! Can 't wait to eat in again or order out and try more dishes"

"My husband, son and myself took a chance on this place and were surprisingly extremely happy. Our waitress Nattie was adorable and so super sweet. And the chef (Squirrel, who came over and introduced himself) made all of our dishes perfectly. I had the greek omlet with marble rye, all fresh ingredients, my son had a chocolate chip waffle and my husband had over easy eggs with bacon and sourdough. Oh and the home fries were also very good, although I was surprised by the bacon. The coffee was delicious and the service was fast. I would definitely recommend this place 100%. We are in town visiting my daughter for family weekend, but we will definitely be dining here again, if not this trip definitely in the future."

"We were here to celebrate our 28th anniversary. Yeah, it's expensive. But it's worth it. Especially It was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely wonderful. It's all you can eat on all dishes. I was very happy with everything they had to offer. You won't be hungry here. Everything from salad to desert is the top shelf. I have to give this restaurant and staff a high 5-star rating. Your taste buds will be thrilled. Very recommended."

"My husband and I ordered takeout on our way to Roan Mountain to do some hiking and birding. We both got the Philly cheesesteak and fries. (We skipped the vegan mayo. Both were hot and fresh and delicious. We don’t eat fries often so when we splurge we want them to be fresh cut and fried right. These did not disappoint. Double fried and crispy. We would definitely stop here again if we are anywhere near Johnson City."

"Let your foodie adventure begin here at Gourmet Co must try! So I’m headed to Johnson City for work and my partner finds this article about 10 best restaurants to try in what was named “little Chicago” (some Capone history here). First on the list is Gourmet Co. Open Table had no available spots for my one free night of dinner, but the restaurant website said to call them if you run into that problem. I called. Dinner for 1? Anytime? No problem!!! 7pm bar seating and away we go! My bartender/server is excellent— busy as hell, but helpful, attentive and a delicious drink slinger. I start w a dirty martini with goat cheese stuffed olives. Wow! Who knew? And he made it just how I like it. The menu had such delicious soy ding options, but I’m dining alone and only have one stomach. If my chosen specials were indicative of the quality of all the dishes, a chef tasting menu here would be phenomenal to experience. But alas, I chose with me ‘literal’ gut— what sounded good to my belly — go local it said! So we start with the locally sourced mushroom cream vegetarian soup 6+ types of mushrooms with lots of mushroom bits to much on while you enjoy. Then, another special grouper, crispy skinned, on a bed of local veggies more local mushrooms, pea shoots, garlic, radish, fennel, and swipe of herbaceous sauce painted on the bowl. Fresh, bright, delish! And can we squeeze in a bit of sweet at the end? Why, yes!!! — Local strawberry hand pie… Local strawberries, goat cheese filling, creme anglaise, and charred lemon sorbet. The crust was light and fresh, with more creamier forward (less than strawberry forward) filling and the lemon sorbet show stopper. Wonderful! I have eaten at gourmet restaurants all around the world and this restaurant stands up!!! Of course I needed to order the oatmeal cookie martini to sip on as I wrote this review for you. And it is a mind twistingly accurate oatmeal cookie flavor! Wow! Again, cannot say enough good things about the talent of my drink slinging mixologist with a heart who apparently has worked here 16 years — speaks volumes!"

"Veal parm was good. I just wish they allowed substitute for pasta. It's a waste to have it if you don't like it. They also have no other vegetable substitute for salad Vegetarian options: They have no vegetable replacement for salad and pasta. Dietary restrictions: It would be nice to have low carb and low sodium options. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"Harbor House Seafood was a really excellent choice for us. We were on a day trip to Johnson City and then to Elizabethton Tennessee and as we came back we stopped there and had dinner and the parking lot was full. Most excellent choice have a restaurant in a small town. If you're in Johnson City or near Johnson City you should definitely take the time to go eat a wonderful meal. By the way the sea food is very fresh."

"Delicious!!! We were in Johnson City for the night and I wanted Italian food. This jewel didn't disappoint. The service was on the spot. The owner stopped at our table and asked if we had any questions. Italian food/pasta is not a favorite of my husband, the owner needed time to ask what he likes. He made a proposal and even said he could adapt everything because he is the cook. The portions were HUGE!!!! I had the penne with vodka sauce and my husband had fetters Alfredo with shrimps. It was delicious. The bread, salad, pasta, service and Limoncello was perfect. We'll go back there."

"Really a find, although it has been there for a while, we finally have to taste the delicious food. The atmosphere is great, the staff are very attentive and good and friendly and the food is excellent. I've tried many Thai food places in my travels, but never Lao's food. And that was incredible. Flavoring is incredible. The vegetables are cooked for perfection. The meat was tender and juicy. I'll be back soon."

"Freiberg is always amazing. It's absurd to see a $5 lunch deal in every sitting restaurant of today's age, but the quantity of food makes it so much more incredible. I don't think you'll find a deal I know at least. I recommend the pork carving with one side of roast potatoes beer cheese. Seriously one of the most satisfying meals I've eaten for a long time!"

"I was visiting the area for a week and sought out restaurants that were vegan friendly. I was delighted to find this small stylish Turkish cafe with a nice outdoor patio. I tried the maze platter so I could taste a variety of appetizers. It was beautiful! It included two things I had never had before. The ezme consisted of lovely chopped tomatoes with fresh herbs. The smoked eggplant was the star, so rich and flavorful! The platter plus some lentil soup made a fine meal. Loved it so much I went back the next night for more smoked eggplant, plus a falafel wrap with green pepper added, kalamata olives on the side, and excellent tabouleh. Finished off with strong Turkish coffee. Highly recommended!!"

"Very nice! The place was clean, the service was fast, and the food was friendly. Parker, our server, was exceptional. I can't have gluten, and she was able to answer my questions quickly. Then, when my meal came out, she surprised me with gluten free soy sauce. I am so appreciative. The food was so beautiful, too!"

"I would say it 's mediocre. It 's not bad but it 's nothing special honestly. I paid $30 for two small bowls of pho, a small coffee and a Thai tea, plus kimchi. My friend said her coffee was extremely strong and like something you 'd expect to get at church, a church coffee. My Thai tea was good but it 's $4 for a small. When I could get a large for the same price elsewhere. My pho wasn 't bad but the beef meatball was diced and dog food type texture... they might need to try something else.. it was also very fatty. If you want premium quality beef pho go to the roots in Johnson city TN. You get a large bowl of filet mignon pho for $11. The service here was okay, it may be something in their culture where you don 't bother the customers while eating. But we needed things and didn 't want to yell for the waitress.. we ended up not getting the things we needed while eating. She was very polite and nice though so no personality issues... just needed to be more on top of seeing if we needed anything.... The place was kinda clean, could be better but for Gray, I don 't expect top notch cleanliness. I probably won 't be back."

"The three star is the quality of food. The sweet and sour chicken was not the best. The shrimp tempura was pretty good but a small portion. The service was definitely a five star. Gloria was awesome and the ginger ice cream was really good."

"came here 15 minutes ago. my wife and I waited for about 5 minutes until someone noticed we came in. took place shortly after the chips brought away immediately, sat there for 10 more minutes until another waiter asked if we even ordered drinks to finally order. 35 minutes waiting for our food. my meal I came with tortillas and I got a sauce on the side that came 1p min after I got my actual food. it's our first time. we wanted to talk to someone who was the manager. he gave my wife and I the answer they were doing and didn't do anything to stay with us. we went out without payment."

"We came to Johnson City due to a medical emergency and this was by far the best place we ended up eating breakfast during our stay. The food was outstanding, the friendliness of the staff was even more impressive, and we’d definitely go back. The manager even checked in on us and even gave us some of their DELICIOUS iced cinnamon biscuits so we could share them with our dad who was in the hospital. Pictured is the Squawking Goat that was full of flavor and tender chicken!"

"Tulips have one of the best lunches around. My last visit to my wife, I had the Catfish food. Two perfectly baked fillets that are perfectly prepared. I had the Pommes and Coleslaw. Heaping part of the Pommes, excellent Koleslaw. As usual a pinch of cold beer. My wife had the Buffalo chicken sluice. She didn't say much for the first minutes when she ripped off the first half of her wrap. She was happy on the other half when she finally grabbed some frits. I took it from her silence and constant tears into the pack that she was a happy camper. The service was good as usual at the end of lunch. In addition to the daily specialty, they have a complete compliment of the traditional tavern-tarife. They also make mixed drinks. It was nice enough that the outside seats had some lively customers. If you enjoy a friendly atmosphere a la Cheers, good food, sports on several TVs, and cold beer or drinks, tulips is a great place to eat, hang, and relax."

"There were almost more employees than diners at this location! At least it seemed that way. We were seated near the front door which was where the host station and the kitchen were. We were a group of 4 at a table for 6. We had plenty of room for all of the trays and plates and glasses and things that accumulated on the table. If we'd had 6 people it would not have been enough space. Our server was very good, she was fairly busy but checked on us often. The starter bread was good. Our salads and entrees were good as well. My parents-in-law shared a steak and each got a potato. I got the salmon and it was very good. My husband got the NY strip and enjoyed it. I would come back again if driving through Johnson City."

"I love stopping here and working a frosted coffee pretty every day on my way! the personal is always kind and no matter what I'm ordering, it's always right! as I said, the whole personal is friendly, but there's a male manager who is the absolutely best. I never had a problem personally, but I quickly and gracefully treated him with other problems for other customers! I'm sorry I don't know his name, but I wish I could give him the credit he deserves. but then again they all earn credit for how amazing they are all the time!"

"Favorite mexican food in the area. Everyhing has been good but our go-tos the chicharron and campechana tacos (just meat, onions, and cilantro with radish on side corn tortillas by default), beef soup when we can get it, chocoflan and horchata. All consistently fantastic, thank you to all the wonderful staff!"
