"Last Sunday, we came across a nice little Bavarian beer garden, and decided to give it a try, since it was lunch time. From the street (see photos), it looks very inviting with a lovely wrought iron gate and fence covered in greenery. Also from the street, there is an amazing scent of .. well, meat. As my husband calls it 'dead animals on the grill '. The restaurant has a large outdoor area with lots of mature trees that provide great dappled shade and has both Bavarian style picnic tables, as well as cute little tables and chairs. To our mouthwatering delight, there was a suckling pig roasting on an open rotisserie. There were many other Bavarian beer garden type of food choices, but we both went with the suckling pig. I had it with rye bread and hubby with fries. And of course, I had beer. The hubby seemed quite happy with his order, but I was a bit disappointed. The portion was large unnecessarily so but the meat was quite dried out and not a bit of the yummy crackling skin I had expected. Also, much too lean .. not even a teeny bit of fat. Also, the meat arrived covered in gravy, which I did not like. The ambiance was really nice, and we plan to try the place again for some of the other things on the menu. Prost!"
