"My twin brother Stephen and I chanced upon Meister Gerhard as we were wandering around this part of town and what a great find Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, a traditional authentic interior, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar ,a very good place to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday night, bar was busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each,we opted to have Dom Kölsch beer, served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. My beer was excellent, Cologne is justifiably famous for its amazing range of Kölsch beers and Dom Kölsch although not as prevalent as say Gaffel Kölsch beer or Reissdorf Kölsch beer is just as tasty,a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink, when served fresh and in its distinctive narrow glass it's such a refreshing beer . We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this bar. Meister Gerhard is easy to locate along Rathenauplatz. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 5pm till 1am. A great bar, well worth checking out if your in the area."
