"Before our tanus hike on this sunny autumn day we met with friends for lunch to strengthen us before the tour. Since we don't know so well at Taunus, we left the restaurant suggestions of our friends. They met in Kronberg to start from there. Here the local Schützenhof immediately fell into our eye, he convinced us with his well-maintained outer, large green beer garden and the widest selection on the menu. Here something should be found for our different tastes. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic old town of Kronberg, next to the market. Since the weather god was well meant by us, we took place in the idyllic outdoor area at still warm 20°C. Simple typical beer garden tables and chairs that were very comfortable with thick seat cushions. Beautifully covered with fabric table top and fresh pot flowers on the tables, they definitely appreciate the simple ambience. Inside the restaurant, it is rustically decorated, much bright wood, corner benches, watercolours from the Taunus and land scenes decorate the walls. In addition to the restaurant, the Schützenhof has a connected hotel company and an associated leisure shop where you can discover with selected treats. Hardly that we had taken place in the beautiful beer garden, the waiter appeared quickly and only a few minutes later the ordered drinks were already before us. The menu of the restaurant is very diverse, from German classics such as e.g. Schnitzel, Braten, Rumpsteak ....etc there are some pesto dishes, burgers, flame cakes and many Indian foods also in vegetarian and vegan variants. Some regional delicacies here: green sauce, hand cheese with music... and a season ticket during our visit: wild, goose, pumpkin... We had a taste: mixed Indian appetizer board, which we shared with our friends Papadam, Samosas, Chicken Pakora and Paneer Pakora 3 different sauces and warm Naanbrot a successful start. Wild goulash with homemade dumplings, red spices and wild-priced berries very tasty, but portion should have been a bit bigger, was quite barely dimensioned mixed grill Indian grilled lamb, chicken breast, homemade fresh cheese and marinated fish pieces all tasted in the tandooriofen very delicious picnic sauce, with added Tandoori Roti."
