"I was so impressed by this place! Went with a friend and our server let us both try a couple different wines we were interested in before we selected a glass. We also got the baked Brie appetizer which came with a delicious homemade caramel sauce and then split the carbonara pasta which had a nice kick to it. Everything was delicious and then because our main dish took a little while to come out (no big deal to us), they were kind enough to give us the lemon cheesecake. Our server was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. They have a good happy hour deal too. Will definitely go back!"

"I have eaten here many times. The food is wildly inconsistent, almost as if there are different chefs with different recipes from day to day. Vegan options on the buffet are boring and bland, but if you know what to order the food can be a solid 8/10. As a fan of Indian/Pakistani food, this is not great by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly better than nothing, considering the lack of options in the area. The staff is always super nice and accommodating and I want to continue supporting this business even more because of that."

"My husband and I had a very pleasant dining experience here on a busy Saturday night. Our waitress, Hailey, was very polite and attentive. She was at our table within a minute or two of us being seated. She was quick to take our order, bring our drinks, and head back for our salads and appetizer. She checked back often, offering to refill our drinks, clear dishes, and check on how we were doing. From start to finish, Hailey was polite and always had a smile. "At Republic, you can select 3 different types of dining experiences. For a more family-friendly/business meeting, you can dine inside. Cocktail tables are available next to the bar area for anyone interested in enjoying drinks and appetizers. For a fun date night or a party with friends, you should dine outside in the patio on a Saturday night! The live music is great for dancing and singing-along! I tried the Salmon Avocado. It is grilled salmon on a bed of cilantro rice, topped with a creamy sauce of avocado, cilantro, tomato, onion and parmesan cheese, served with vegetables. It is so delicious! You can never go wrong with a cocktail at Republic! The Peach Blossom is a classic! Peaches and blueberries infuse the wine perfectly! The Serrano Margarita is refreshing with a slight kick of the chile. So good! I forgot to take a picture of the Olive Cocktail. It is off-menu, but you can request it! It is green olives in clamato, salsa Maggy and tequila with Tajin on the rim. It is perfect to eat/drink while enjoying your drink and listening to the music."

"However, there were a couple of concerns. When we arrived around 8:30 pm, no one was at the front counter, and we waited about five minutes for assistance. While that isn't a long wait, there was an unsettling drawing on the counter that was visible to all entering customers. Additionally, the manager asked a server if he had cleaned his areas and the bathroom, to which he falsely replied yes. Unfortunately, the bathroom was dusty—I even drew a line on the towel dispenser to highlight the dust. The floor was dirty, the mirror hadn't been cleaned in ages, and there was hair in the sink. Overall, our visit was enjoyable, largely due to our excellent server. However, the presence of that drawing and the improper attention to cleanliness made the experience uncomfortable, especially given the current climate of gun violence. It’s concerning that someone had the time to create such a drawing and left it in a highly visible spot where many customers could see it."

"The restaurant is extremely inviting and cozy, with hosts and owners who are attentive to our every need. The food is freshly prepared, as we could see, and the portions are incredibly large. I couldn't finish my meal and had to take half of it home to enjoy the next day. The prices are fair for the fresh, quality dishes offered. While it may not be an everyday dining spot, it is definitely worth splurging on once a month for a satisfying meal. I highly recommend the Gyro tacos for myself and my partner, as well as the cucumber and sautéed garlic salad. I appreciate healthy options and this place is a must-visit!"

"Took the family for their first meal there for burgers as Wallbangers on 10th st was closed. I'm glad it was, as my family loved this place and my brisket bacon burger was unbelievable. The server even brought my 10 month old daughter some berries and strawberry with a lil roll for her to eat at no charge, thx brotha...My new addiction here besides the brisket burger is the Hand crafted Root beer. Amazingly smooth. Service was friendly and awesome and food was beyond great.. will be returning soon no doubt about that."

"First time here tonight and wasn't expecting everyone to be so attentive and nice. From the nice host who sat us down in front of the bar to Daniela the bartender who was very attentive and nice. I was craving penne arriabata which wasn't on the menu but Daniela asked the chef and they made it for me. Have to say from all the italian restaurants i been to the pasta here was the best in my opinion. It was so delicious and fresh. Even though we had 2 waiters Daniela and another young man (who I didn't catch his name)waiting on us all the waiters who passed by our table were so nice and attentive with us. Everyone had a smile on their face. For dessert we ordered the cheesecake and again we weren't disappointed, it was one of the best cheesecakes I have had. I also liked that they had good music playing in the background. Totally recommend this place and would try to visit again soon!"

"Taco Palenque has definitely gone downhill. The interior is dirty and lacking in cleanliness, with no visible efforts made by the staff to maintain the place. The absence of salsas, pico de Gallo, and limes was disappointing. Additionally, the taste of the meat in the tacos left much to be desired, especially considering the high prices. Overall, I would not suggest this restaurant due to the poor service, unclean environment, and overpriced menu items."

"Positive vibes, fresh seafood, extensive menu, fast speed service and the friendliest employees. Drinks are strong and delicious and the food is always to die for. I dream about the soft shell crab if I lived in McAllen I would go more often but I do drive all the way from Brownsville every other week or so just to grab some sushi"
