"The dining experience at this restaurant was overall good, although there were a few issues. During my first visit, I ate alone around 8:30pm and felt rushed as closing time approached quickly. On my second visit, I brought my daughter and grandson to try the fried ice cream, only to find out that the prices had gone up, which came as a surprise when I received the bill. I did not look at the physical menu in the restaurant and instead relied on the online menu, which turned out to be inaccurate. I also ordered a burrito to go, close to closing time, and it was ready and brought to my table in less than 5 minutes. Unfortunately, when I got home and served it to my husband for dinner, the burrito was cold and dry, unlike any wet burrito I had ever eaten before. It was disappointing and had to be thrown away."

"We have passed this place so many times and finally got the opportunity to visit. It's an awesome, chill place to just relax and enjoy the company of whomever you are with. When you get to the entrance you are greeted and seated, with indoor and outdoor options available. We sat outside and we had our dogs with us. The person who greeted us was so friendly and gave each of the pups a treat (and snuck in some head pats and more treats as he passed through seating others). We sat in big comfortable Adirondack chairs and were promptly offered something to drink. They have an excellent beer menu, with some seltzers and they also offer water. You can also purchase packs of their product (canned) to take with you. I do wish there was cider but the beer the server suggested was excellent. Our server was friendly and honestly so good at her job, handling multiple parties and never letting your drink go empty before checking on you again. The service was fast and excellent. Dust Bowl doesn't technically serve food but there is a taco truck on site. We did not get any food but saw others with food and it looked and smelled really good. We can't wait to come back, hopefully we will get to see the place in the evening when the fire pits are going and the string lights are on. Such a good vibe."

"Go there because it’s a little British style neighborhood pub near The Presidio of Monterey. It’s not busy, parking is limited, but they have Shiner Bock on draft. It won’t be crowded with tourists and the service is fast and friendly. Prices aren’t outrageous either. It’s about as good as you can get for a bar in Monterey."

"We were extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. The room was very basic and there were no special amenities. It felt more like a chain hotel, i.e. a Hampton Inn, instead of a luxury boutique hotel! We had just spent 2 nights in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel where the lobby was luxurious and the rooms was spacious (two separate sleeping areas in a double queen room) all for less than $500 a night. In comparison, this hotel was less than stunning with no extra amenities and cost more than $700 for an inland room with a view of a dirty, old building and parking lot. Further, there is a huge discrepancy between the pictures on the website and the actual hotel. For example, the website shows the gym overlooking a beautiful bay, when in reality, you are looking at run down buildings with black marks all over them. Not cute and picturesque as expected."

"I've never been here by all these years. it is a pretty interesting place. interesting decoration. beautiful selection of drinks and things to munch. her chai wasn't like some big chains. actually has a taste. her breakfast burritos was wrapped in film and wax paper, had not too much kartoffel the less the better. And her spicy sesame sauce that came with him was on the spot! if they are not in seasoned, they just cry a flow. her banan skull muffin was interesting. was not too fluffy and airy. felt hearty and dense, but nevertheless quite good. I did not see in the bags before the time, but they were already included quite serviettes. no need to tear off more hand towels from the counter."

"Really disappointing. Live music was very loud and we were seated in a booth facing the restaurant so the people at either end couldn’t talk over the music. We asked to be reseated but we’re rudely told not possible, despite there being several empty tables in the other half of the restaurant which could have accommodated us. Service was all over the place waited ages for some things then main courses arrived literally as started plates were being cleared. Good mixed pasta dishes ok, pizzas undercooked. Caprese salad and bruschetta were not good."

"we often bring our visitors here and this trip was not great. we sat and two more tables sat after us and first got their orders. it took 45 minutes to get an salate. we never got drinks refills and parts of our order were wrong. we only saw the waitress a few times because she was lined. for lunch in the week we would have expected a faster service. we understand that it is difficult nowadays to find good employees, but we may need to think our future visits again."

"Terrible food with even worse service. From the moment we walked in service was bad. The hostess acted like we were an annoyance and we shouldn't even be there. The waiter told us we has to hurry up and put in an order because the kitchen needed to switch to dinner. The food was disgusting. The lobster corn chowder was canned clay chowder with some lobster and corn thrown in and the lollipops were so under cooked they were inedible. And lastly, the floors were so dirty and unvacuumed it was disgusting."

"After we had taken some fruit from the peasant market right in front of us, we saw the high ratings for this place and gave him an attempt. The beer was good, but we regret the food. If you like to drown food in sauce, you like it. We ordered their most popular items, thought sales would be good. Overall, the food was too heavy, dripping with sugary, oily sauces, so you could not really see or taste the meat. The fried food was so oily and greasy, the coating slipped off directly. We had to double check, there was no mistake with the all spicy Bretzel bc they saw as simple Mini Baguettes, type like the free Olive Garden reels (has not had to one in 20 years, so not sure if they were still) but wash with a pastry silk. Service was not available. Since it was empty, except for another table in the front, and we also had several bags of peaches and apricots (which we let them know), we asked ourselves why we had a tiny table for two all on the back where servers chat and folding napkins. The size of the table was large enough if you had only beer and a small starter. Right next to us were several large four people tables and stands, of which everyone would have been comfortable as we ordered late lunch / fast dinner. When we were almost finished, we realized that they allow non-service dogs in the interior (as someone who loves animals and took care of several different pets during my life) what we think is unsanitary."

"The Watermelon Swirl Sorbet is one of the worst flavors I’ve ever tasted in my 29 years of living. If you want to know what a super sweet, medicine tasting flavor is like then get it. Baskin Robbins needs to throw this flavors recipe in the Bermuda Triangle and maybe even hire Dr. Strange to lose this recipe in a different dimension. I went back to ask if I could exchange this atrocity of a flavor for something else....they said I had to pay again for another flavor. I’d rather drink NyQuil and it still would be better than this sh*t.."

"small. clean. faster service. one of the better locations in the region. we would eat more often here if they have extended their hours to get to the west on the lighthouse, not so easy to ride, as there are no left turns along the lighthouse. go a road beyond the load, turn right, go up a road, then return a block. cross the road and find street parking. the ingredients, meat, cheese and broth are always fresh and beautifully presented as they see them. the load is always immaculate and rarely a line. clean bathroom. not to eat outdoors, but a beautiful park over the side street."

"Says they open at 6, sat in drive thru until 6:10 with no response and had to leave so I wasn't late for work. as I'm leaving see someone running across the street to come to work. Very unprofessional. Now I don't get breakfast because someone was tardy.Edit tried again this morning 3/9 and sat in the driveway for another 10 mins at 6:30 ish. As I'm driving out the employees are walking in. Either update your opening time, or you really need to get some better reliable help. Extremely unprofessional. And they wonder why everyone talks smack about fast food workers."

"a must experience restaurant in monterey, ca. the food was delicious! service was first class! the restaurant is beautiful in the inner! newly renovated with comfortable seating and an interior design that makes it amazed! my party and I promise to return to montrio bistro at the next visit this beautiful city on the beach! pity if you jump directly into the desert! the brotpudding is the most delicious dessert I have ever tried!"

"March 21st 2022 at around 4.30pm checked in at Bubba Gump in Monterey. We were told a 30 minute wait and that they would text my husband when ready for us. After waiting about 50 minutes I went to ask if we had missed the text. The lady said no but it will be soon. About 10 minutes later the lady came to us (we were waiting outside) and said that they had texted us 10 minutes before and that we were about to lose our spot. My husband was upset and showed them his phone there was no text or phone call or message whatsoever. The manager came out and was very unpleasant with us. We did not get a text. After that the service was ok and the food ok although not the calamari (don't order it At 8.20pm that day my husband got the text from them (they close at 8pm Of course it could have been a phone company issue but the hostess and manager did not have to be so unpleasant about it. Honestly the food is mediocre and quite expensive. We are not going to this restaurant again. There are plenty of better places in Monterey."

"I have ordered from this restaurant twice now, and both times the sandwiches have been exceptional. The bread is always perfectly crispy, the aioli adds a delicious layer of flavor, and the bell peppers provide moisture and a satisfying crunch. The style of sandwiches is similar to those at 3 Worlds nearby, but I believe the quality of ingredients here is superior. I ordered through a delivery app both times and only had one issue: they left the onions on despite my request to have them removed. While the sandwich was delicious, I now taste onion on my breath as I head to work. Overall, this is a great spot to grab a delicious sandwich. (Pictured: Turkey sandwich to go)"

"I really appreciate the late hours here! All other spots along Cannery Row are closed quite early, but Lalla is open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, which is great! We didn’t have a reservation and got seated with stunning ocean-side views and floor to ceiling glass windows. Our server was sweet, professional and fast! The food is not mind-blowing, but it’s solid! I got the ahi tuna and my husband got the pistachio crusted chicken salad. We were both happy with the quality of our meals. Overall it’s a good place to hang out and enjoy some awesome views!"
