"Went to meet Miguel and his family's restaurant. Ordered the chicken housemade (keyword) tacos, birria mac n cheese, and fire roasted poblano with steak (carne asada). TLDR, the food was excellent. Looking forward to coming back! Really enjoyed the tacos. The corn tortillas were definitely authentic, with that flavor you expect from fresh masa. The meat, cilantro, onions and a sprinkle of cotija cheese made it really good. Slap on their housemade salsa, guac, sour cream, and/or jalapeños to your liking and you'll be coming back for more. The birria mac n cheese was cool. Instead of beef, it had pork meat (which I prefer personally) and it was moist and tender, shredding nicely with little effort. The base of the bowl was a mac n cheese, using a larger, thicker noodle. It's cover in a solid layer of pork birria with plenty of the birria broth, then it's covered in some onions, cilantro, guac, and sour cream, garnished with jalapeño slices. Really enjoyed sharing it with my friend. Last but not least, the fire roasted poblano pepper stuff with cheese and steak (carne asade). I'm generally a big fan of chile relleno, and these go a step further by adding meat to them. Miguel marinates his carne asada before grilling them, and the flavor really comes out. The portion is pretty small, so this would be a good choice as an appetizer to share, or maybe if you're looking for a small dish for yourself. All in all, I really enjoyed chatting with Miguel and his family. They made me feel like family in the brief moment I shared with them after the meal. I really can taste the love and passion in the food they serve, and they welcome feedback. Kicking myself for not taking pictures. Wish them the best of luck in the future. Saludos a todos!"
