"this restaurant is a step back into the time. it is a lot of a special occasion/romantic dinner restaurant that we did not recognize until we arrived there. we sat in a cozy side on the lower level, which had wood cladding, chandelier and artwork. for sale. the tables were well spaced. it was charming and was neither cheesy nor pretentious. they take their weights, give them up, put them on them when they go. eating is very good. well prepared, well presented and in a reasonable portion size especially for a French restaurant. I had the carrot soup, the bavette and the apple cake. everything was delicious, well spiced and sown. the apple cake took about 15 minutes to come, but it was worth waiting. the crust was buttery and the temperature was exactly right. there was also an amuse book and a pallet cleaner. the prices are appropriate for quality and portion size. the service was attentive. while our waitress English spoke, she was obviously more comfortable in French. lower dinge, but she offered the tables next to us fresh comminuted pfeffer, but not for us. I asked and she brought it with. she engaged in much more chat, laughing and bantering with the French speaking tables and was very business as with us. I even spoke to her in French, as I was the only person on our table, who spoke French, but she still spoke to me in English majority, which was strange. Nevertheless, her English was more than sufficient to wait our table, she was efficient, checked if we enjoyed the food and if we needed something else. she described all the dishes and gave good recommendations. the other problem is that we were looking for a restaurant in Ile-Bizard. from any reason this restaurant is advertised as on the island if it is not. it is more or less at the beginning of the boul. Ste-Charles and gouin in Ste-Genevieve. it was a happy mistake because I probably never had gone over this restaurant or to him. I would have dispensed with a wonderful culinary experience. I would not hesitate to go back and I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. This review covers the last two visits here, once in the summer, and then in the fall.This was the first place where I experienced a lime sorbet as a palate cleanser between courses many years...ago. So special. The bread basket is also always accompanied with something special each time. The last two times with different groups of people, we were tantalized with warm cheese and walnut mini muffins. The crazy salad on the menu is a sizable bowl of colourful vegetables dressed lightly with a tangy vinaigrette. The soup of the day for the summer time is sometimes a cold one like a gazpacho or Vichyssoise or something warm like a butternut squash one in the fall. The menu is updated seasonally. There is a wonderfully priced 2 course Bistro menu on Sunday through Thursday for $28 (at time of writing). The service is always gentle and friendly. You can tell that there are repeat guests here because the staff seem to know their guests by name. So far, my favourite meals are the meat and fish ones over the pasta options. You know a restaurant is led well in the kitchen when the calf liver is perfectly pan fried, staying tender with no strong aroma or when a tough piece of beef shoulder is fork tender. For now, the duck breast is still my 1 favourite. The vegetable sides are also tender with a tiny bit of char and a small bite crisp still left. I have also enjoyed my dessert choices, from crème caramel to chocolate profiteroles to dark chocolate molten cake. I especially love it when some of the desserts are served on black slate plates. The final touch of fancy is when the bill comes with a serving of candied grapefruit peel dipped in chocolate. It makes me feel that my presence was welcomed. I recommend Le Surcouf for any and every occasion. The food is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Gluten free options are available. Feel free to call in advance to check. Owner Dominique is very responsive. Added to the ambiance are walls adorned with paintings that guests may purchase. PS I only found out recently that the restaurant has 8 parking spots behind their beautiful Victorian house property. This is helpful to know in the height of summer when the waterfront is packed with people."

"Came in tonight for our anniversary. We haven't left the confines of Festus much since they opened but have wanted to check things out. I had the surf and turf special...awesome all around. My wife had the mango avocado chicken wrap and loved it. The drinks were great as well and Greg came around and told us about the amazing desserts. Let me tell you that the Kahlua Cake that he recommended was possibly the best dessert I've ever had. 5 star food, 5 star service."

"This is a very clean and friendly environment. You have always come out your food as soon as possible, allow them to get the mobile app that allows to get food as much faster, and the food is always nice and fresh when you get when. Here and there they have some complications and can mix your order, but if they did, they gave me a full refund and I was very generous of it. Overall an amazingly nice clean place to go and eat or go."

"The food was disgusting!! The salad bar was clean and the items on it were fresh! There was a young baseball team together with their families who had been before our arrival. It was really busy and we waited a bit after the order to serve, but Jackie did a very nice task to take care of us! We will definitely eat again!"

"The chips and salsa, so good! We ordered fried mushrooms and they were the freshest I ever had and the fried ravioli was not dry and tasted amazing. Our waitress was very friendly, but a little hard to understand and it wasn't really a problem. We ordered dessert and the silk cake was so good and the peach cooked cup was to die. The menu was very diverse, there was something for every kind of person there, and our food didn't take long to get out. The best part was that the food wasn't fat. The interior of this place it very clean.. This restaurant is a must to see, and although the outside looks a little iffy, it makes the interior worth everything."

"The food at this restaurant was good, but not exceptional, and the service was friendly. However, the overall dining experience was disappointing. It was difficult to find the restaurant as the signage was not very visible and placed on an old Pizza Hut sign. It felt more like dining at a Pizza Hut rather than a restaurant named Olives et Aromates. The location, between a McDonald's and a KFC, and across from an Ultramar, was not what I was expecting for a special dining experience."

"Everyone talked about this new restaurant in Ste. Genevieve. We finally had the chance and try. Great house cooking, we all had something else, and they were delicious! The woman had catfish, I had the marble Frisco black Angus Burger, and our son had the farm sunrise Burger (with an egg and bacon). Everything was perfected, and our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. People of this place was clean, as new tables and stands looted, and I think everything in the kitchen is brand new. This is a family restaurant, alcohol is not served, but the homemade desserts are to die. Stop in,grab a bite and relax, and enjoy! There are specialties almost daily, and I hear that she makes a medium lasagna and meat leaflets. Crepes for breakfast, I dare you!"
