"CELEBRATION NIGHT at a ROADHOUSE A couple days ago we found out that our Neighbor, Linda, is having a Birthday on Wednesday, so my Wonderful Wife contacted her and invited her out to Dinner on us and she gets to choose the place. Well, to make this part of the review short I 'll get right to it. Linda cut her list down to two places and one of them was Texas Roadhouse (San Angelo) and that 's where we went. We have been here for 7 months now and have not gone to Texas Roadhouse out here and it 's in our neighborhood. We Love their Rolls, Peanuts and of course, their Steaks. Just to make sure, I joined their 'Wait List ' for 5:30pm since they don 't take reservations. Don 't think we needed too because everyone out here usually goes out to eat around 6:30pm or so. We arrived on time and didn 't need the 'Wait List ' notification. We were greeted by the Hostess and shown their 'Steak Display ' case to pick out the Steak that we want. Not going to do that at this time because we are not sure what we want to eat I kind of do, but that 's later and the 'Steak Display ' looks Amazing with all that Red Delicious Meat. The Hostess then led us to our booth and the Manager stopped by and said 'Hello ' Nice Touch. We gave Linda her Birthday Card and also her Gift Bag and she laughed (at the card, not the gift). Ashlynn is our server and brought over a Basket of their Rolls with that Soft Delicious Butter. We ordered our drinks, Ice Tea for Linda, Miller Lite with a glass of ice for my Wife and I 'm having a Yuengling Draft Beer we also asked for waters. While all that is being poured we looked over the Menu. As I said, I kind of know what I want and it is what I 'm going with; their Road Kill ; A 10oz Chop Steak smothered with Sautéed Onions, Sautéed Mushrooms Jack Cheese, served with 2 Sides; chose Mashed Potatoes with Brown Gravy and Green Beans. I Love Texas Roadhouse 'Road Kill ', it 's the Best Ever. Linda is ordering a small Dinner Salad with Blue Cheese Crumbles and Rattlesnake Bites ; Diced Jalapenos Jack Cheese, lightly Fried Served with Ranch or Cajun Sauce for dipping chose Ranch. My Wife ordered their Steakhouse Filet Salad with Ranch; Salad Greens drizzled with Italian Dressing topped with Tender Filet Strips, Blue Cheese Crumbles (omitted), BACON Bits, Red Onions, Tomatoes Croutons and served with a side of Creamy Blue Cheese (also omitted). Since my Wife didn 't want any Blue Cheese anything, Linda informed Ashlynn to give her Nancy 's Crumbles. In the next section from us, someone is celebrating their Birthday and being embarrassed by their Friends and also the Texas Roadhouse Crew singing their version of Happy Birthday at this time Linda stated she doesn 't want to be embarrassed this time and we obliged. Our Drinks arrived and we toasted to Linda 's Birthday and also enjoyed those Hot Rolls with their Tasty Butter. Texas Roadhouse Rolls are still some of the Best out there I ate a few of these and we need to come here more often just for those Rolls. Those and their Peanuts are always something to look forward too. Texas Roadhouse changed the way they have their Peanuts. They are in Bags now and you grab a few when you come in to enjoy at your table. Peanuts are Peanuts and it doesn 't matter how you have them because ya gonna enjoy 'em anyhow. While we waited for our food we talked a lot about everything and soon we were served. All the food looks delicious and my 'Road Kill ' is just the way I remembered it. Ashlynn asked me to cut into it and check if it was prepared properly I did and it was. The 'Road Kill ' was prepared Perfectly the way Texas Roadhouse always has done it. Every Bite of this was Tastyliciousness at it 's Finest. Those Green Beans are the Best, love the BACON Bits and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy is always a plus with me. My Wife Loved her 'Steakhouse Filet Sal"

"VERY unpleasant experience! Appetizer: Tempura shrimp absolutely no seasoning in the batter; it tasted like they rolled damp shrimp/veggies in dry unseasoned flour. Tempura sauce had little taste seemed to be watered down too much. My son had teriyaki steak; I had teriyaki steak chicken. The steak was inedible. Both of us chewed chewed on the meat without it ever breaking up in our mouths. I had to spit my first bite out because it was too large to safely swallow whole. After 2 bites each, with the same chewing gum experience, we decided that the meat was an inferior cut and poorly prepared. My chicken was OK. [BTW both of us have our own teeth! The steamed veggies were passable, though my son said some of is had a fishy taste cross contamination with shrimp? Both of us had fried rice. They measure a serving by filling a square bowl inverting it on the plate. The rice on the outside was dried out inside of the mound of rice it was wet. Apparently the serving bowls had been filled hours earlier not stored properly, so moisture on the outside evaporated moisture inside condensed. I complained to the waiter, who told the cook; cook responded he was sorry but could do nothing about it. When we got up to leave, I asked what the manager said about our complaint was told the manager was not there no one was there filling his role. I was told no one could offer any resolution to the problem that both of us were leaving without our meals. They were sorry. When I said I was not planning on coming back, the waiter smiled said OK. This was the second time I ate there, the first time my son did. I enjoyed my first visit; seems like they replaced the cook I enjoyed cut corners to save by sacrificing good food."
