"Our family were celebrating our Christmas eve, and it was completely ruined by this terrible restaurant. My son wanted to have more oysters after his dinner, so I ordered it before 6:20 pm because they said that was the last call. However, even long after...we finished our dinner, the oysters had not been served yet. Because the server told us that the oysters were coming soon while he was taking away the empty dishes, and because the first oyster plate took very very long to be served, we waited and waited. But when I finally asked him how much longer it would take, he acted surprised and told us he never got the order from us. He said that the kitchen was now closed, so they could not serve them any more. The manager came but he didn't seem to believe us. He asked me whom we asked for it. The server was insisting or lying that he didn't get any order for the additional oyster plate. Was he really dumb or was he covering his mistake? The manager was believing the server and treating me as someone who was complaining to cheat them out of more food or money, because he asked me if we wanted some free desserts or teas! How rude he was!! Now I am even thinking that they probably were working as a team to prevent customers from ordering oysters on half-price Tuesdays to cut their losses To be honest, the oysters served as a Tuesday special were not that great. The quality was really worth one dollar, nothing more or nothing less! . The experience with them was absolutely terrible, and probably that was why this restaurant was left for reservation in the open table website until the last moment on Christmas eve. How funny was it that I felt lucky when I found a restaurant to be able to reserve on a Christmas eve? It eventually turned out that I was very unlucky to find this place. I paid over $320 in total including 16% tip, and our Christmas eve was totally ruined! PS: we started with a dirty contaminated knife and when I ordered 20 oysters, I found that they only brought 18 oysters. It was kind of sketchy, especially because the server did not react surprised or count the oysters when we informed him of the mistake. Was everything happening tonight related to oyster order really coincidence? No. I dont think so. It is very sketchy place. Watch out for this restaurant!"

"we are norweger and were on business trip to toronto and were told rs was the place for eating and drinking. now, took a taxi (cost us more than 90 cad and past several sportables on the way) and. rs at 8 o'clock on Friday. we are two balls in the late 40s/early 50s, smartly dressed. my colleague is white while I am from Southeast Asia (live 50 years in norway) on the door says this lady: what are you doing here? his closed event, only to invite. I knew it was nonsense and couldn't help her smile and she knew I knew it. when I worked as a booze in my youth, it was easy to see that they didn't want us as a client. I didn't want to argue and just wanted to go to another place, but my colleague still wanted to go on rs (because one of his friends had told him that it was a must-see in toronto.) So, I said we're just here for eating and drinking that we are not from Canada, we are tourist. then the people at the door asked if they wanted to drink or eat. we answered: both, but first food. I stressed that we were just going to eat and drink and then go. we were finally let in (here saw that everyone didn't want to let us in.) Of course it wasn't a closed event (it was just a baseball game between toronto blue jays and another team.) we ordered to eat what was nothing special, but pizza was (4 ok) but hey, his sportable, not a restaurant, so we didn't expect to eat excellent. the place was less than 1/5. we went after eating and drinking well and went. service at the table was good. we just want to know why the people at the door didn't want us to be customers? we were not older than many of the customers. we didn't smell bad. we were not dressed badly. was it because I'm colored? I hope not, but I can't find a reasonable reason. we will soon be back in toronto, could someone give us advice about places in the city that do not discriminate so? we are good clients; we don't have to, we eat a lot, we drink a lot and we'll tap well."
