"the aldie general store and cafe is the coffee and breakfast place in the historic city of aldie, virginia. Surrounded by old farmhouses (aka plantations, the tragically enslaved people), it is a general business with grab and go items, $2 big bottled water and a complete breakfast menu. I went on a Saturday morning and both the inside and outside seats were full and there was a line behind the register. the menu is beautifully written on a chalkboard by the register. they sell all breakfast items, including breakfast sandwiches, coffee and a maple bacon doughnut. the service was very friendly and an Australian woman behind the register gave me local weingut recommended. parking was easy to find. the one thing to note that they do not follow all kovid safety regulations. it was not a single person or a patron masked. if they come from a territory that tries to keep the community safe, I would avoid this place."
