Danke"

"While on a short vacation to Ashland OR, we decided to splurge the last night and eat out at a nice restaurant. After looking on line and asking our hotel staff, Beasy’s On the Creek came up quite a few times. We made a reservation and were on our way. Beasy’s is a true steak and seafood restaurant. Numerous steak and various seafood choices. Not a lot of “fluff” and other dishes. Just well prepared, well presented and very delicious steaks and seafood. Upon our arrival, we were quickly seated a nice window seat overlooking the creek area. We decided to eat inside (it was 91F outside but the outside seating looked great and had quite a few people dinning there! Their wine and beer list a very good top choices. We ordered a nice cab and I had my go to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Once we settled in we studied the menu and decided on a bowl of their clam chowder as an appetizer. I ordered the NY Steak and my wife had the seafood special of the evening halibut with 2 grilled prawns. The chowder was delicious and paired well with the warm bread they brought along. This chowder had a creamy, rich broth with lots of chopped clams. No potatoes, no celery just a rich creamy broth and tons of clams. Very nice!!! After we drained the bowl (even mopped up some of the last with the bread ; , our dinner salad arrived. You pick one of 3 I went with the house salad and my wife the hearts of romaine with Green Godess dressing. My salad was great lots of crunchy iceberg lettuce, some tomatoes and really tasty chopped green olives. It was great! Finally the main attraction! My steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it medium rare and was covered in a deep mushroom sauce with sliced mushrooms and a side to potatoes au gratin. The steak was quite tender sometimes tough with NY Strips. Cooked prefect and the mushroom sauce was a great compliment didn’t overpower complimented well! The vegetable of the day was steamed broccoli in a butter sauce. They were cooked how I like time crisp tender. My wife prefers hers more “cooked tender”. I was happy. My wife’s halibut was pretty large grilled lightly and covered in a mild citrus sauce. The prawns were also nice sized and grilled but not so much to try out the prawn. The citrus/butter sauce, like my mushroom sauce never tried to take over the show. Enough richness and taste, but still let the mild halibut and prawns be the stars. The rice pilaf that came with the fish we incredible. We could have eaten just that (and the chowder for dinner! Nicely flavored and perfectly coated in a smooth sauce. Needless to say, we ate everything and sadly didn’t leave room for dessert. The desserts I saw going to a few tables looked great especially the chocolate brownie with ice cream and a chocolate/caramel sauce. It was big enough for 2 maybe 3 people! The service was quick and friendly. By the end of dinner we were happy we took the many recommendation and had dinner at Beasy’s. The food, the atmosphere and service are spot on especially if you are looking for a fine Steak and Seafood place!"
