"This place is awesome! They have great seitan sandwiches with vegan dressing, vegan coleslaw, and fresh house made vegan chips! They have different flavrs and Asian style sandwiches. They do have non-vegan foods there too, so feel free to bring the vegan food wary with you. The sandwiches are well priced, and big, albeit it a little messy (well worth it Definitely make it over there, it's a great healthy and local little place."

"I have visited this restaurant location numerous times over the past 5 years. I always choose to customize my own pizza and prefer to top it with a variety of vegetables. The spicy vegan chorizo topping is fantastic, and I also enjoy their vegan cheese in moderation. However, too much of the vegan cheese can be overwhelming for me. The pesto sauce is flavorful but extremely garlicky, leaving a strong odor that lingers for a while. For this reason, I usually opt for the regular red sauce. The seating area is decent, as it is a fast food establishment, so it is best not to have high expectations. Nevertheless, I have always been pleased with how my pizza turns out here. Some may question if it truly qualifies as pizza, but to me, it is a delicious form of flatbread fast food. I appreciate the presence of the northwestern wildcard discount at this specific location. I cannot compare it to other Blaze outlets as I have only dined at this one."

"My boyfriend and I went for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner and we were not disappointed! Excellent service, delicious Hibachi dinner and even a surprise dessert at the end. The atmosphere was upbeat and everyone had smiles on their faces. A mix of old and young in the Hibachi area. Would DEFINITELY return!"

"We were not sure what to expect for $66 per night and were definitely skeptical, but right in front of the bat was the young man at the reception (3/24/18) so personal and helpful. It was also late at night. The room was clean and the staff had additional bed linen and towels in stock as I had requested online without reminding anyone. Breakfast was delicious. The lobby and restaurant were very cool and our stay was so pleasant!! We will definitely book on the way back to Colorado. Thank you for having such wonderful staff and taking care of us for a family on a budget."

"Hands down the best food I’ve ever had! I came here for my post graduate dinner and it was amazing First of all the service is amazing and our server Teresa was so accommodating to all our needs. We ordered all seafood and vegetarian items and all of them were phenomenal, none of the dishes tasted the same, but each had a unique and different taste. I can’t even pick a favorite dish because all of them were my favorite! Mary the manager was such a doll as well, she made sure we had a good experience and tried to alter every dish to our dietary needs. Thank you KOI for making this the best graduation dinner ever for me! Check this place out if you’re in Evanston!!!"

"I am pleasantly surprised by Coast after my third dinner here. The service is great and I love the food (essentially Japanese and sushi). There are some really creative dishes as well and decent selection of Sake. It's typically not hard to walk in or get delivery although it can be expensive for delivery and portions are not huge. I tend to sit at the bar for sushi but tables are often plentiful and available for families and small groups. For the area, it's a great option and I find myself returning although I would recommend slightly larger portions for my American belly."

"The Qabuli Palaw was an absolute abomination. I’m not sure if the people who run this place are actually Afghan but any Afghan person would know that’s not how Qabuli is supposed to taste. It was bitter to the point I couldn’t have more than 2-3 bites and very very chewy. I was pretty disappointed as I was looking forward to eating here."

"I never write a review but this one I had to. Please make sure you check your bill because she will just say the total but you will never know that the total she quote is with 20% tip already added. This is like scamming people. They know people don't usually pay attention to the price of food so people usually think that is their total and because there is a space for tip, people wite extra tip without knowing they are paying 35 to 40% tip.The server (probably the owner) is extremely rude and everytime you ask for something like a straw she would sigh and give you a look.Bad bad service. However the gentleman was totally different from the lady. He was really nice and we went and asked him for something because the lady was so rude and my kids were scared to ask.I really don't get it. You are in business and we are the customers who keep your business going so why are you treating your customer with such a bad attitude. I will never never go back to that place.I am going to call the city to report them."

"Looking to kill time grab something decent to eat while my daughter was taking a class at the Evanston Art Center across the street. I had a glass of proseco and the 'Kinda Lika Waldorph ' salad, which was delicious. Waiter was super attentive and kind. Ahhhhhh. Loved it."

"Cozy little breakfast spot! A cozy little place just opposite to Evanston public library. I went on a weekend morning, and there was a big line. So make sure you have enough time in your hand, when you visit. We ordered egg Benedict and spinach mushroom omelet! Both were great and portion size was good! I did ask them to avoild the becon on the Benedict, but they did not, upon asking to change the dish, they just removed the becon and served the same dish to me.. i wish they didn’t do that, since i do not eat becon. Cant blame them, they were too busy to make another dish. Overall, it wasnt a bad experience.. If you go there, try their coffee as well!"

"This restaurant serves delicious, authentic, traditional Italian cuisine. The cacio e pepe is the best I've had in this country. The pizzas are similar to those in Rome. The service is outstanding and they now offer a lunch service. They also have one of the few dog-friendly patios in Evanston. The only downside is that they close early."

"Great place to eat burgers. If you go there you should test the chocolate sundae. Awesome taste. And really affordable. They also have a full meal plan. The burger the fries drink (coke or sprite or ... . And under 5 dollars you can have a good meal plan. You could also take your food without the drink. I hope they will add the sundae in a meal plan for people like me who love it more than the coke or soda stuff. Great place for friends and family."

"The place is very calm, but the Atmosphere is missing since there wasn't any music playing or anything that would give it a good feeling for wanting to celebrate something. Besides that everything else was good with the food which tastes amazing and if you want a taste of some of the things they have in their menu, I would recommend the smokehouse combo."

"oh my god! where to start! It was my first time and I had EXTRAORDINARY experience here! The uni is sooo fresh! I ordered hotate, unagi, tsubugai and tsubugai nigiri too and I loved them! Their tempura and zaru soba is great. One thing... just only one thing that I dont like at all is their salmon skin handroll. The salmon skin was not crunchy at all and have a weird smell. Nevertheless, that's not keeping me from giving them 5 stars anyways. Great service! Will be back!"

Tasty, Buffalo Joe or Al's at Ridge are all better quality and ANSWER the phone they also are professional and WANT YOUR BUSINESS. I have eaten at Harold's in EVERY part of the city. This is BY FAR WORST than those that sit in the worst neighborhood. Do them a favor stay away and let them close down like the last one did that was on the corner of Howard and Ashland. We have TOO many good choices in the area. Don't go here."

"Sandwich was good! They actually used real eggs. The croissant didnt fall apart. Sausage had a good flavor. As far as fast foodbreakfast goes, it was one of the better Ive had. The potato wedges were good and crispy and not too thick, not soggy. The cold brew with vanilla frosty cream was way too sweet! So much so that I couldnt even drink it and threw it out."

"Our third visit, the first time during warmer weather, allowing us to enjoy their outdoor seating patio for the first time which we found quite lovely considering the proximity to the train station. But that is all a part of the allure that is Alcove. We had a wonderful dining experience paired with fantastic service. My wife enjoyed the risotto while I took my time savoring each bite of the duck. We opted not to share a dessert—my choice, not my wife's. I loved the bread pudding. I'll add this was our first night out since having our second child two months ago, and this was the perfect evening for it. Thank you"

"I have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now, but our most recent visit in August 2023 was very disappointing. It was disheartening to see that they still had their Christmas decorations up and the floor was falling apart, indicating a lack of care. The steak we ordered lacked flavor, and the escargot was overcooked with a hard pastry on top that was difficult to bite into. We may have to reconsider returning in the future."
