"My family and I visited Farmville last week during our nine-day trip to Texas, and the pastor and his wife took us to Wood and Smoke. After enjoying BBQ a few times on our journey, we still couldn’t get enough of the amazing Texas BBQ, and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the BBQ turkey sandwich, which was piled high with meat. While I was a bit let down that they were out of jalapeño cheddar, the turkey was truly excellent. My wife had the BBQ brisket quesadilla plate, which was generous and filling. The beans I chose as my side were incredibly tasty, featuring large chunks of brisket and jalapeño that added a nice kick. The root beer from the soda fountain paired perfectly with the BBQ, and the hot sauce had just the right smoky flavor characteristic of Texas BBQ, even better than the mild sauce. The atmosphere inside was lovely, and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place!"
