"sushi was very high quality (the cooks must be very talented) and all ingredients were fresh. I came in at 9 o'clock and had just been driven from work to house and was told to the restaurant near 10 o'clock, and they didn't want to put me on a table. I asked about the execution and they said they would let me commission the execution. I ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls, 1 yum yum roll with modifications, and 1 standard deep fried salmon roll. they did the 2spicy tuna and the yum yum and did not screw up the mods, but the fourth roll not. they had paid me before the time when I looked at the reception and saw that they did not overload me, but just forget to add the fourth roll. when I gave them my credit card, they told me my card was down. I looked at my app and the card didn't take off, just didn't get charged. the young waitress always told me that my chip was broken. then the manager came and ran my card successfully. After I checked my order, I knew I was a roll short, but since I wasn't charged for it, I didn't want to push up. positiw: sushi is tasty and they have a lot of options. the spicy thunfish is made of fresh pieces thunfish, not the mined mull that many places use. the ingredients are fresh and the chefs are talented. the portions are beautiful and large! negatiw: employees without training, sub-sustainable and personal is emphasized. they come so short, but clearly not appropriate. they use a dry erasing board and a marker instead of paper for sushi orders (I think this is how my roll erased lol) overall: space has 5 star potential, but they need to hire more employees and work more efficiently. if it was about bad eating, I wouldn't write this whole review. I really hope they're busy because I liked to eat that."

"Hong Hau, Maybe #2. Last night we had an early “Mother’s Day Dinner” at one of the area’s better Chinese restaurants, the Hong Hua Restaurant on Orchard Lake Road, just south of 12 Mile Road. It’s not your typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant, but it’s a former “Hour Magazine’s Restaurant of the Year” winner and a reputation for fine dining. Our party of eleven (11) was seated in their rear room and the décor was modern and clean.<br/ <br/ We started dinner with their Corn and Chicken Soup which was hot and very tasty. It’s not on the regular menu, so you’ll have to ask it for by name. Next, we had the Peking Duck which in my opinion compares favorably with the Peking Duck we had last year in Beijing, P.R.C. <br/ <br/ Be sure to ask your waitperson to prepare the duck skin, sliced scallions, hoisin sauce, and mandarin skins. They do a lot better job than doing it yourself. This was an excellent dish! <br/ <br/ We followed up the Peking Duck with their Black-Bean Oysters, again off their “special menu”. It’s a large oyster on a shell that is steamed with generous amounts of black bean, a hint of garlic, and topped with thin, almost transparent, rice noodles. I’ve had this dish in NYC’s Chinatown and Hong Hau’s version compares favorably with the NYC version.<br/ <br/ Other dishes we ordered were as follows;<br/ <br/ Spicy Squid – ordered from the “special menu”; not very spicy and lacked crispness<br/ <br/ Sweet and Sour Chicken – pretty good, but you can order this dish just about anywhere<br/ <br/ Pork Chop with Spicy Salt – excellent dish with lots of flavor<br/ <br/ Braised Bean Curd – average without much flavor, but an excellent choice for our resident vegetarian.<br/ <br/ Szechuan Chicken – spicy with slices of tender chicken and vegetables<br/ <br/ Shrimp with Walnuts – tasty shrimp, but the broccoli was not even cooked<br/ <br/ Shrimp in Lobster Sauce – IMHO, other than the Peking Duck; my favorite dish. Tasty shrimp all sautéed in a thick Lobster sauce with lots of black beans and garlic.<br/ <br/ Rib-Eye with Asparagus and “Maggie Sauce” – the most disappointing dish of the dinner. Their presentation was great, the asparagus was perfectly cooked; but the rib-eye was well-done, and we especially asked for 'rare”. Since this is a Chinese restaurant and not a steakhouse . . . maybe this should be expected.<br/ <br/ <br/ For dessert they gave us the traditional “Fortune Cookies”, but we also ordered their Mango Pudding, which was really firm and only semi-sweet. Most other fine Chinese restaurants provide fresh fruit for dessert.<br/ <br/ Overall, Hong Hau lives up to their reputation with excellent quality, pleasant ambiance, and professional service. I would rate it 4 stars.<br/ <br/ But, for strictly excellent Szechuan and Cantonese food, with the addition of great Dim Sum, and a very affordable price; I still vote for Cheng’s Chinese Restaurant in Rochester hills, Michigan. While Hong Hau in Farmington Hills, Michigan would be a close second."

"I found Cafe Cortina on Instagram and was super excited to finally try it out especially since it's been voted the most romantic restaurant. Who doesn't want to check out a magical place?! I made reservations on open table. It was super easy. You can add if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary too. Once we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly valet person. Valet is complementary. If you prefer to park yourself, there is self-parking in the back. Just ask! After we parked, we walked into the restaurant. We were greeted by the friendly staff who coat checked my jacket. Shortly after, we were seated at our booth. Once seated, we were greeted by a young man that helped us with our drink order and fresh bread. I love seeing the younger generation working especially in the current world we live in! Super minor, but our meal was Uber expensive. When opening our bottle of wine, a piece of cork fell in and I swallowed it during the initial taste. My husband noticed it as I was literally swallowing it. For dinner, we started with calamari. It was okay. To follow, my husband got the tomahawk steak and I got the Alaskan halibut, both on special. For newbies when it came to a tomahawk steak, we both prefer a filet for multiple reasons. For taste alone, I would go with a filet. The tomahawk was fattier, which is a choice preference. For the price, I would go with a filet as well. My Alaskan halibut was good! Entrees comes with pasta and a vegetable, however specials come with a salad, potato, and vegetable. I wish I knew that prior to ordering. I would have went with a pasta dish, but that will give me a reason to come back when the patio is open. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate grappa and the affago. Both were great! If you had grappa before, this is a wonderful surprise. I would definitely come back for the service. The food was good, but definitely would try something different. It was extremely expensive, so I would come back for a celebration."
