"5/2023: Good sandwiches. I got the Cubano and my friend got the French Dip. Both were very good and were stuffed with meat. However, the sandwiches were a bit small for the price. 8/2023: Came back even though my first experience here was average thanks to the high price of their food. This time my friend got the Chicken Po’ Boy. Not wanting to spend nearly $20 on a sub sandwich again, I got the Creamy Garlic Chicken Sandwich. Obviously their chicken sandwiches are smaller than their subs, but it was still filling. The garlic sauce had kind of a weird taste. I liked the bites of my sandwich that didn’t have as much sauce. The bun and chicken were good though. Better than the Po’ Boy at any rate. For some reason, that one had much tougher chicken. Still won’t be planning on making this a regular stop since it’s so expensive. @Christopher Ferko it seems that there’s always one of your kind in the reviews for a restaurant that serves Philly Cheesesteaks. I don’t get why you guys haven’t learned your lesson by now. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: as a Hawaii local, I would never buy a poke bowl outside of Hawaii. A regional specialty will never be as good outside of its home region, especially to somebody from said region. It’s not hard."

"Go to fish taco spot on the south side. Generally the vibes and the food here are what keep me coming back, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The seating can be tough because it's so popular you have to time it right or just try not time it wrong. The four stars for food is due to the cook on the fries can be inconsistent, otherwise really Ono eats."

"AMAZING vegan food! Like seriously, my boyfriend and I ate here every morning of our trip, and we’re both so sad to be leaving Blondie’s behind. Our go-to were the vegan nutella cold brew (soooo so good) and the Ironman sandwich, which was crazy good and filling. We ate this for breakfast and didn’t get hungry until like 4pm! We also tried all the sweets and shared them with our omni friends, who loved them all. Blondie’s is a true gem and we can’t wait to be back for more!"

"Randomly wandered by this place exhausted and stressed while my mom was in surgery at Straub. Decided to comfort eat. Ordered the latte. They do Italian style espresso served at drinkable temp, not scalding. EXCELLENT espresso. Absolutely top tier. Not a hint of bitterness or acidity. Prosciutto di Parma breakfast is beautifully salty and savory, eggs are light and fluffy, everything was very good but the star of the show is the handmade macadamia nut pesto. Mac nuts are perfectly toasted. Probably the best pesto I’ve ever had. Finally, I had the lilikoi cheesecake which was spectacular. This isn’t a cheap grab and go coffee shop, this is a high quality stuff. A little pricey, but so is everything in Hawaii but it’s well worth it. The owner is really friendly. Nice bluesy/jazzy music. This place is great. Definitely worth a visit."

"We were excited to try this spot after reading so many good reviews! We ordered takeout and decided to go with the Kahlua Eggs Benny and the Salmom Eggs Benny along with the waffle dogs. The kahlua was the best part of the entire meal.The tator tots we upgraded to tasted like they had been microwaved. Poor texture and lukewarm.The waffles themselves that came on the bottom of both eggs benny were thick and heavy and very sweet. Not the typical kine of mainland waffles.The salmon was very fishy and had very small portions. The waffle dogs were okay but definitely reminiscent of a mini 7-11 Lupchong. The order was not ready when we arrived even tho there was only 2 customers in the store. Overall it was a very cute ambiance and beachy vibes but next time we'll save money and make it all at home."

"its located on the very top floor of this interesting little complex. lots of cute shops, coffee, eateries to explore here, all small locally owned joints so its a great breakaway from touristy spots. This bahn mi shop is good, a solid offering. clean n bright setting. I can’t say its the best in the region, but is certainly satisfying. lot to explore in this building, so definitely worth the hang out n explore experience."

"Been meaning to check out this cafe since it's around the corner from where I work, but after a friend brought back a small sampler of their monthly soft serve yesterday I had to stop by today.I ordered their curry chicken sandwich and their bagel pizza and earl grey soft serve (this month's flavor) for my sis and we both approve. The curry chicken sandwich had a nice full portion and their house dressing was delicious. My sister enjoyed her pizza and is asking me to stop by again soon after I'm pau with work haha!Looking at their website, it is a bit out of date in terms of their menu and their social link (ie, they list teri chicken sandwich on their site but I didn't see it on the board there though I could have easily missed it, haha). This is nowhere near a complaint, just want to let the fine folks know! The rest of the site is very well organized and list what to expect from each option.It's a very cozy spot to hang in with good amount of seating inside and a public space just outside. Very good food, soft serve, and service. Planning to try more from their menu that caught both my and my sister's eye. Would recommend."

"Order the spicy Angry Shrimp Plate. It will be ready in about 10-15 minutes. Even though I like spicy food, the spice was too strong and I couldn't feel the garlic flavor, which was a shame. "Poi Bowl is a walk up order and go food court eatery at Ala Moana Makai Food Court. I was browsing the eateries in the food court and saw Poi Bowl's daily special menu had cabbage roll as one of their specials. So I decided to order it since I love my mom;s cabbage rolls and I haven't had cabbage rolls in a very long time. The lady serving me was prompt and scooped more tomato sauce on the cabbage rolls so the overflow sauce can be mixed with rice. Very good service.Stuffed Cabbage Roll 3.5/5The cabbage roll was okay. The tomato sauce ok, but was more salty than I prefer. The filling was ground beef. It was not as moist as it should be, it was more on the dry side. That said, the ground beef stuffing was ok if you mix it with the tomato sauce. The cabbage was cooked good. The cabbage was soft, nor hard. If it wasn't for the saltiness and the unseasoned ground beef, I would have gave a better rating.Poi Bowl specializes serving Hawaiian dishes. Cabbage rolls was an odd item on their daily special menu, but I am glad I ordered it."

"Great little find on the ground floor of the Banyan, not what I expected at all. Coffee can come in a mug and not paper which we prefer, good cakes and a reasonable range of other food offered. A breath of fresh air if you’re looking for something other than Star$s or ABC"

"Have been going to Zippy's makiki since they opened. As everything kind of changed during the pandemic so did zippy's. The food before for some reason tasted better. The portions have shrunk not to starving areas but shrunk and with everything else that we know about the price has gone up. The staff and whoever hires the staff is still doing an awesome job the people that come and assist you are Pleasant cheerful and very attentive to your needs. It would be nice to get Zippy's back to where it was and maybe one day it will be but right now it's working on itself and it's doing a great job. Again, support local. I have a feeling at some point in time is someone born and raised here they will be our mainstay."

"Surprisingly a very good high quality breakfast at reasonable prices. The ordering system is cafeteria style where you go up to the point of sale and make your order. There is no weight staff for tables so when your orders are ready they'll call your number .I ordered the omelette and it was prepared perfectly. It comes with one slice of toast for $13.50."

"Had a great experience here!The staff was very kind and accommodating. Waiter remembered my friend’s regular order- which was nice and impressive. He was very attentive to us.A good variety of appealing options on their menu to choose from during brunch time. I got the yogurt with berries. I appreciate that it was all separate in the presentation of the dish. They make their own yogurt- which I also think it’s very cool. Meal was super yummy.The coffee was actually very good. As a person who is not usually critical or analytical when it comes to coffee- I’m surprised I’m saying this/noticed, but how much I enjoyed the coffee here was a pleasant surprise.Restaurant wasn’t overly packed at about 9:00am on a weekday when we went. Food came out quite fast.Everything about the experience here was great and I’m enthusiastic to return!"

"I used to love Leahi so much and tell all my friends, strangers and people visiting the island about it and i would also take some of my tours there as well but will no longer.I started working here 3 weeks ago and the day i quit this was the conversation that was brought up to me.First off Malia the manager at the manoa location is very cold and not friendly she doesn’t even smile.I came into my shift at 7:45am and she was 10 minutes late. We walk in and she mentioned she needed to talk to me about a few things.She said she noticed a bunch of my friends coming in and she reminded me i couldn’t give them any discounts. And i looked at her and said i don’t even work the register when they have came in and i don’t even know how to give discounts.Then she proceeded to say the other day my friend came in to order a smoothie and she said hi to me and i told her i was going to put something special in it and took it out to her and told her i put love in it.Malia said that she heard that and im not allowed to give any extras without them paying for it and i looked at her and said i didn’t put any extras i put “love” in the smoothie.She was so rude and if you ever experienced the same i would encourage you to write your story on here.My roommate Emma also experienced her unkindness and coldness and quit 2 weeks later as well. She mentioned she wasn’t nice, she treated her like she was stupid when she was training.I could understand why people don’t want to continue working for this company. A piece of advice for the owner Jason. If you have happy employees you’ll have happy customers because the employees will take care of them. I’ve seen Malia interact with customers and be very cold and rude to them in my 3 weeks working there."
