"We went for our birthday celebration. The hostess was very sweet and went out of her way to provide us a table on the window. The server was virtually unseen the entire evening and wasn't pleasant when she did come to the table. She seemed to be in a bad mood and didn't smile or offer any suggestions. She told us two beers that weren't available and when I asked about the rotating beers, listed on the menu, she answered in a snarky voice that she already told me it was unavailable, when in actuality there was no way for me to know if the beer she mentioned was one that was rotating. After taking our order, she dropped bread and our meals. She never came to ask how things were and we didn't see her again until the bill was presented. This also happened to be the only time she smiled. I guess at that point, she was hoping a smile would improve her tip (we always tip well, even with poor service). I made a point of listing that we were celebrating our birthdays when I made the reservation and though I didn't expect anything, I think acknowledgement would have been nice. The half roasted chicken was out of this world. The only saving grace other than our view and the sweet hostess. The salmon tartar was on the verge of no longer being fresh and had brown streaks and the chicken wings were the size of drumsticks, way too big. They were also soggy from sitting in the Thai sauce. Something I would have happily shared with the server if she ever came back to the table to ask how things were. The Caesar salad was okay, but had too much garlic and needed more seasoning. We understand restaurant choices are limited on the island and mid week. We also give extra leniency given the residual effects of Covid. But honestly, a kind server with a nice smile and an ounce of courtesy will go so much further than someone who seems miserable at their job. Maybe it was an off night. At the time I chose not to make a big deal about it as not to ruin our evening."

"I’m sharing my recent experience at Duck Soup, hoping it might help others make a more informed decision before dining there. We visited on August 8, 2024, for my brother-in-law's 50th birthday—and were extremely disappointed. Our experience was far from what we had hoped for, and unfortunately, it overshadowed the celebration. First, the online menu was misleading. We were looking forward to dishes like the pork chop and belly, only to find they were not available once we got there. Instead, the menu at the restaurant was different and the prices higher. This was frustrating, especially since we had specifically chosen Duck Soup based on their online menu and recommendations. Our party of six faced numerous issues with our meals. Out of all the dishes, only one was satisfactory. We chose not to send back the majority of the meals out of embarrassment, which contributed to a ruined birthday dinner. Here’s a breakdown of the terrible food we were served: The filet was overcooked despite ordering it medium rare. It was remade, but it definitely was not worthy of an $80 steak. The Steak Diane was overcooked, with raw and burnt side vegetables that were left untouched. The noodles that came with the black cod were drenched in soy sauce, making them inedible. The pasta and prawns were overcooked and barely touched. The quail was undercooked and left uneaten. It looked like it was thrown in a microwave. My stomach turned so much that I could not eat it. The waitress never asked what if there were any issues even when 4/6 dishes remained mostly uneaten. We should have spoken up, but considering it was a birthday dinner, we did not want to spoil the night. The final blow came with the automatic $88 tip added to our bill $528 total), which felt unjust given the poor quality of the food and service. After spending so much, most of us left hungry and had to find another place to eat. I spoke with the manager, who explained that the online menu isn’t always current, as they change their offerings monthly. She also mentioned that the main chef was in the ER that night. While I understand that emergencies happen, it doesn’t excuse the overall lack of quality and bad service. I was told we should be grateful for being accommodated without a reservation, but in hindsight, I wish we hadn’t gone at all given how disappointing the food was. We were never offered anything to remediate the crummy food and experience. We dined here previously and it was pretty good. However, after this experience, and the manager's response, we will not dine here again. I want to make sure others do not make the same mistake we did with eating here."

"we went to coho to celebrate my brother in the birthday of the law, as it seemed to be a special place to have a good time and enjoy good eating - the presentation is very pleasant and the ambiente seems nice then the dinge started to happen. first they called us to change the reservation to an hour later (8:30 a.m.) because they had made a mistake when booking. the whole day was planned to throw a wrench into the plan. after the reorganization of the activities and the timetable we came to the place (a small, beautiful house near the center) and were immediately down. the server had our table ready, but from any reason he didn't seem happy to have us - no smile, completely flatter ton and monotonous. then he came to our table and began to let us know that ~20% of the menu was no longer available – thanks to our “late” due to the changed sitting time. we tried to order a bottle of wine, but that was no longer on stock (the proposed replacement by the waiter was sufficient, but very frustrating that nothing was available. our server seemed to be in a pretty gloomy mood, and he did not have to make our stay pleasant. he seemed to try, but it was very half-hearted and woke up after the first words. eating was really good with a critique - the temperature was something on the low side. this is beber ideal, but even less if the court they have is goat (which would otherwise have been great) we wanted to get a dessert, but there were also no options. only vanilla and chocolate ice cream. before we made the food, as it was too late (again, because our reservation was raised and we came when most people were gone) he brought us our sheck (not unusual) and began to clean all the other tables and stack the chairs on them. no warm fuzzy feeling. all in all, I would not recommend spending their money at this place only on the basis of the service. Pity, as the cook is good and eating is very nicely presented (although cold as mentioned). The bill was not cheap- the restaurant is safe fine eating- and the entire customer experience made us feel very disappointed and unpleasant. I will not return soon and not recommend it. had been a nice “coulder”."
