"Great new addition to the Miller Beach district in Gary! My wife and I stopped here for dinner before attending an event at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts (only 2 blocks away). Tequila and Tacos were delicious! These are pretty good tacos. I had a vegetable taco and a shrimp taco. My wife had a shrimp taco and a chicken taco. The shrimps were the hands down our favorite! So good with an excellent mango cutney upstairs. We started with chips and Guac and I also added one side of Zilantro-Calc rice to my Tacos. Good beer selection and of course Tequila and Margaritas! This is our new way to Miller Beach before events. And note that Tequilas and Tacos are next to the 18th Street Brewing. We had an event to go, but eating here and drinking there would also be a worthy journey."

"I often visited pre-pandemic and the whole place had a mood that you wanted to hang only after work, school, the beach, etc. Great food, good atmosphere and back when the terrace was open, you can just sit and enjoy the breeze... and the loud annoying Zughorn, but hey, you can not always get what you want. About a month ago, I went back for the first time in three years. I ordered to go, but it was STILL the same; great food, good atmosphere and nice workers. I LOVE THIS PLACE...lol!!!"

"platz has something good to eat, but they are a lil rude. they know they make money ethereal because the truckers. fish is in order, but there are a few things that were not good at all, like the calamari. it had no taste at all, but it does not seem to season. Crazy part most holes in the wall places have good eating and great personality this simply did not both stop. eat gets 3 stars and gets place 1. The lady who works behind the counter even told me they do NOT season the food...they just bread it. I was thinking that the breading would be seasoned at least. "Looking for a BBQ spot that sold TURKEY tips and the sides were good, except the macaroni, it was okay. They have a Sunday special with 1 meat, 3 sides, drink, and small peach cobbler. The peach cobbler was in a small sauce container and very runny. Next time I’m definitely going to try the banana pudding. They said the wait would be 20 minutes but I’m sure I only was there for 10-12 minutes."

"We were in Gary, Indiana visiting from Virginia installing The Color Project public art in a local park and found Anna’s Kombucha Cafe and absolutely fell in love. The ladies that work there are stellar humans. Intelligent, kind, caring, knowledgeable and friendly. We could have stayed all day visiting with them... we made new friends. The regulars that were there are awesome. We became friendly with several of them, exchange addresses and are going to send some of our fabrication teams T-shirts so they can wear them around Gary. The coffee was perfect brewed exactly the way I like it and nice and hot. My husband exclaimed that he had the best breakfast sandwich that he had ever had. The baked goods are to die for apple fritters and danish done right. And of course the kombucha! Peach habenaro 40oz to fuel our long ride home. Anna’s gets an A+ for awesome! We will come back to Gary just to go there again! Thank You"

"when we were here the first time, we were new and were not impressed. I have to say we went back today to celebrate the birthday of my brother, whom we ordered calamari and garnelen cocktail, both were great! we had 2 steaks and lambs, all were full and satisfied. I thought our server was excellent. I also thought it was very thoughtful to give my brother a piece of cheesecake as a birthday dessert, very nice mood that my brother was happy and said it was delicious. "I went here for the first time hoping to find a place in Gary with some healthy options which they did have but the portions were very skimpy and not like on the menu the egg rolls were Extremely GREASY to the point the paper bag was soaked and it even soaked the other paper bags it was so greasy that after eating one I got a major headache would not recommend. Non the less the egg rolls were large. The rice was very bland no seasoning no flavor at all, the macaroni was nice not a strong flavor but it was nice wasn't watery and was pretty good. The jerk chicken was ok it didn't taste much like jerk chicken and the portion was very small I have about 6 little pieces sprinkled around the bowl so that was very disappointing especially for almost 12$ but I do try and support our black owned business, last the peach cobbler was very good and it was the only thing I can say I had no problem with , it definitely tasted home made. I would recommend larger portions and also not so greasy food, and maybe a little seasoning unless none requested otherwise. With this being my first time and not having the best experience would I go back yes but it will be a while for sure. Also this is my 3rd time actually try to try there food and patronize there business on the days they claim to be open and was in fact closed . I would still try it out but maybe get something other then what I ordered."
