"After a hiking afternoon in the untouched canton of Glarus, I had even better dinner at Glarnerhof than my previous visit last year. Access is not easier because the hotel is located directly at Glarus Train Station. The service was very good, but in a Swiss way, i.e. friendly yet not outstanding, efficient and yet unobtrusive. Glarnerhof offers uncomplicated traditional dishes. As a starter I chose the classic tomato mozzarella. The part was perfectly presented, but could be larger due to the price of CHF14.50. On the contrary, the main course was generous and delicious: calfse escalope with fresh mushrooms, spinach and dauphine potatoes. As dessert I ate a Toblerone chocolate mousse with whipped cream: definitely not suitable for diet, but really to die for! The invoice is not cheap at CHF83. But food quality is worth it."
