"We can't recommend this place enough. They were above and beyond yesterday when our family (group of 8) came in. Our family is gluten and dairy free and it was wonderful to be able to order anything we wanted. The owner came to check in on us while we were eating to make sure we didnt need anything. We cant wait to come back and eat. Everything on the menu was amazing!!!!! Thank you for what you do!! The staff was also incredible."

"We heard about this place during our last visit to Grand Rapids, but it didn't fit in our schedule. We made sure it was our first stop this visit from Philly. Jeff, the bartender, helped make our first visit an amazing experience. The drinks are beautiful and delicious! The food from the new menu was absolutely outstanding! I had the Korean BBQ Tofu Tacos, which were beautifully made and tasted fantastic. My husband got the Jerk Chicken Skewers and said it was one of the best things he'd ever eaten!"

"I have ordered take out food from this fast food location 11 times, and out of 11 times, they have got my order right 3 times. I 'm sure there is someone out there that orders mozzarella sticks without marinara sauce, but not me, and I will not eat them without it. So the three times they got it right, I would call ahead and ask them to add this sauce to my bag. So tonight, I called and was reassured once again they would, and nope, so I called back to the store and I told the lady what happened how I called ahead and was reassured I would have it and didn 't get it once again. She said, I 'm so sorry about that. I expressed that I was upset and going to toss another order of mozzarella stick into the trash. She then said my team knows that these go together, and I said well I guess they don 't as I have to call, and they still don 't get the order right. . She said I 'm not sure what more you want me to say to you, so have a nice night and hung up on me. With me being a type 1 diabetic I count my carbs before my order gets here as I have to wait 15 to 20 mins after adding more insulin to my pump and allows me to stay within safe number 80-140 limits. When places mess up on this sort of stuff it can cause medical issues as my sugar numbers dropped, and my husband had to take certain measures to help me bring my sugar number back to safe numbers. I 'm very upset but the part that upset me is how I was spoken to when I called back. Simple errors happen but this is a pattern if it has happened this many times to one household I personally didn 't make any errors and to be spoken too like this after they got my order incorrect is appalling and they will never ever get my business again."

"First time here and we really enjoyed it. The bruschetta was super good. I had the confit chicken rotini pasta that had pesto and pine nuts. Not very much chicken or pine nuts on the dish for a $24 meal but it was really tasty. My husband has the salmon and said it was really good as well. We both enjoyed our wine and some gelato. We will return! Service was great and it was a nice atmosphere! Just took one star away because it was a little on the pricey side. 2 glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 meals, and some gelato was over $100."

"I hate to do this for small businesses but Horrible brunch experience! I wish I could leave a 0 stars! Second time going here after new owners (old owner ran it way better) We walked in 5 of us and had a wait even tho half of tables were open! Got to our table our waitress checked on us twice one to give us water and 2 to take our order after waiting for 30 min! We put our order in and it takes 1 hour!!! We get out food and it’s the wrong order! We never get a sorry we are busy never got an explanation! To top it all OFF I go to bathroom when we pay our bill and one of the cooks are in the bathroom processed to use the bathroom and doesn’t wash his hands after going to bathroom! Just a bad experience I would understand if this was a super busy day but there was 5 other tables in there people were getting in and out before us and a hand full of people left mid meal because they were waiting 2 hours"

"PoutineMaple cold brew with pumpkin cold foamM I was skeptical of this but I ended up really loving it! The fries were perfectly crispy and the gravy was so good. The katsu balls weren't my favorite (I didn't care for the seasoning of the meat) but they were still really good. I loved the cheese in the middle. I'd eat this poutine every day if I could tbh. The maple pumpkin cold foam cold brew was good but after a few sips I realized I didn't care for their cold brew. Nothing wrong with it, just not for me. D liked it though! D They got the fries perfect. Super crispy, even with the gravy on top. I liked the Katsu cheese balls but wasn't crazy about them. Gravy was absolute heaven. Loved this dish."

"Ate dinner here for an event, which had a Taco Bar with meat choices: chicken, beef and pork with a small variety of toppings and chips as a side. Tacos and chips were ok, but nothing special. Prickly pear margaritas were pretty good. Overall nice open event space and staff was friendly and helpful, but food and drinks were average. I have not dined at the actual restaurant though."

"We were staying at the JW hotel and made reservations at Margaux. My husband realized he didn't have a smart casual clothing with him so we switched our reservation to jdek. We were given both menus to order from, which was great! We sat overlooking the river. The host accommodated my request for a seat with a back. It was very windy outside but the food was amazing and the service was great! We ordered a fish fry from the outdoor menu and pacific halibut and a side of asparagus from the indoor menu. We will definitely return if we find ourselves in Grand Rapids!"

"Well, we had another wonderful dinner at The Heritage (GRCC's restaurant) last night. Two tips: Make a reservation on Open Table, and there is a link on the restaurant's website. Also, sign up at the Heritage's website with your email address, and they send you emails with coupons and other deals. We had a 6:45 reservation, and were treated like royalty once again. We started with a tiny teaser of a whipped mushroom and leak soup, served with a demitasse soup. We enjoyed the fresh olive bread with whipped tomato herb butter. One of us ordered a Michigan Hefeweizen as the beverage nice selection of Michigan beers. For our choice of appetizer/salad/soup, we both ordered Betty Lou's Creamy Tomato Soup. It had a creamy tomato base, but was not too heavy, filled with chopped red bell peppers, cukes, onions, cashew cream, and dill topped with a few delicious croutons. Before our entrees we were served tiny pineapple gelatos. Our entrees were delicious: One ordered the Sunburned Hen, a half of a young hen rubbed with ancho chili and herb, served atop fresh blue corn waffles, ranchero sauce, sliced avocados and frijoles charros. The other person enjoyed the Halibut special, served with a very light lemon Hollandaise sauce, with baby carrots, asparagus, and 4 tiny roasted, pressed potatoes. The halibut was perfectly cooked, flaky and white. All servings were very generous, and we didn't have room for the tempting desserts on the gorgeous cart. We ended our dinner with their delicious, fresh brewed coffee. Our two servers were excellent, making sure we had everything we need. After the meal we chatted with our servers and one of the chef/professors, Chef Kevin Dunn. The servers told us about their plans after graduating next week. The chef stopped by to visit us and thank us for coming, and he was beaming with pride over his fine students. It's amazing to consider that this is an instructional restaurant everything is superb, every detail is covered. Be sure to check the website as the restaurant closes between semesters. What a fabulous dining experience, wonderful food, beautifully presented, and the best view in the city!"

"Amazing bread and very fresh ingredients. I really love the vegan options, especially the tofu sandwich. The flavors of the seasoned tofu, mushrooms, and sauce work so well together! Definitely one of my favorite sandwiches in GR. They also support their community by selling local art and other goods. Highly recommend this spot, for vegan food and for everyone else too"

"I came here for a late breakfast on Sunday. I ordered a platter for over $10 that included a side of biscuits and gravy. When it came it looked bad but I decided to try it out, it was COLD. I took a bite and actually ended up spitting it out bc of how cold it was and the texture of the gravy. I politely asked my server for a fresh batch because it was cold. She snatched the plate and didn't apologize at all. She came back like a minute or two later and throws the same plate on the table. No steam, seems like they put it in the microwave for a minute. I flagged down the server and asked if I could speak to a manager. She proceeded to tell me that she was in fact the owner and that they were currently making a fresh batch but did not offer to bring me any. I kindly asked her to take it off the bill. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. I don't know if the business owner is racist or just was having a bad day, but I'm never spending my money there again."

"I really wanted to like this place, but the flavor and texture palette of nearly all of their dishes didn’t suit me. Their menu although small seemed very nuanced. I settled on the burrito and as someone who normally finishes their food I couldn’t even get more than a quarter of the way through, I am a foodie, but being that I came here hungover craving breakfast food somehow thought of kale in my breakfast burrito was an element I couldn’t get past. Or hey they have a breakfast sandwich with dill. I’m sure they are great if you are sober and have a more refined palette but if you are selective, have issues with texture, or hungover I don’t recommend coming here."
