"I wish we discovered this place sooner on our vacation! The food was absolutely amazing! We got the two types of shrimp (coconut and garlic) and they were both so delicious! Honestly the best meal I have had on this trip so far. Highly recommend eating here! The owners were so kind and helped me choose what side to get. The macaroni was excellent. We already decided to go there for breakfast tomorrow."

"no photos except dessert, that was really delicious! can not revive exactly what it was, but it had caramelized ingwer on the top. this place is quite overpriced, especially when compared to the quality they get for about the same price in the neighboring restaurant ama. the beginning of the day was ahi tuna, which they advertised as rare, but at the table fully cooked. albondigas were our favorites. I still enjoyed eating, but would recommend ama many times about it."

"Messed up order. Put wrong flavor in. The girl preparing the shave ice was flirting with her boyfriend and not paying attention. Zero coconut, zero ube. We paid for three flavors $1.50 extra per flavor). She got mad when we pointed out the order was wrong. Fixed it by scraping off blueberry and putting a drop each of the other flavors. Didn 't add more shave ice. Ended up being even smaller than the kids size and cost $6 more. There are other shave ice options around."

"Solid BBQ for a solid price. For the dollar value you get a ton of food. Came on a weekday at 7:00. Maybe wait 10 minutes and the food is hot and fast. Jam filled with frits, Mac salad, chicken and ribs. Every penny worth. Make sure to put on a bbq sauce in stock. You have a sink outside to wash your hands after you celebrate like a king. Great for the whole family. Tonnes of pages."

"Glad to have found this little neighborhood gem! Service was friendly and fast. The best fish and chips I’ve had so far on the island! The fish is generously portioned in a light, airy beer batter. The loco moco had plenty of gravy and a runny egg over sticky rice. The artichoke dippers were so good look at how juicy those are and they are served with an herby white sauce. The bloodies were made with a medium hot tomato juice with plenty of limes and marinated green beans in it. We had a great meal!"

"We stayed in Kauai for 4 nights and another 4 nights on the Big Island. During our time on the islands, my dinner here was the best I had all week! We went to Hanalei on a Monday afternoon for a boat tour that ended at 6 pm. After our tour, we were starving but found only a few restaurants were open. We saw the Tahiti Nui was open but packed with people. We decided to check the wait times and for two people it was only 15 mins!! We put our names down and got called up within the 15 mins as promised. Had a great seat at the bar and enjoyed the local musician. The bartender was super busy but very friendly. It's a small restaurant and the seating is tight but it added to the ambiance and gave it a cozy local feel. For dinner, I had the Zesty Coconut Crusted Catch with the recommended purple mash. It was delicious! I started to research the restaurant as we waited for my food and realized this was the spot George Clooney filmed the movie, The Descendants so I thought that was a pretty cool bonus to learn about our visit."

"Had the pleasure of visiting Hanalei Dolphin three different times this past week. Each time everything was on point, fish and appetizers were prepared to perfection, amazing textures and flavor, great atmosphere, and excellent service! The hostess, Morgan, really made feel welcome and special, I truly felt appreciated by her and all of the many staff members I met this week. In fact, I left in tears because I am not accustomed to being treated so well. Not that common these days. Mahalo Hanalei Dolphin! I appreciate all of you! See you next time for sure!"

"The food here was amazing. You have some local options if you want to try. My wife has the Calamari and I have the traditional Burger dish. After sitting there is a must because the views of the waterfalls on the surrounding mountains are amazing! Staff was great and services very fast between ordering and receiving our food. There are also many areas close to shopping and sightseeing. Also a historical museum over the street with authentic totems. There are also shaved ice rink nearby. Great location to spend a few hours and get the calories off the food."

"The Bao was so good! Better than the ramen in my opinion. It reminded me of bahn mi. The kimchi is also really yummy. Super acidic which I enjoy. "Wow was this place impressive. They’re only open till 1 so you have to make sure to get in early but it’s well worth doing so. Went with the chicken katsu which was made to perfection. Portion size was fantastic and could easily be split by two folks if needed. Max salad and sauces were also awesome, all in all a great spot to check out."

"Best place to eat in Princeville! We started with the crispy leek salad. AMAZING. I had the wagyu as my main and it was top notch. My husband enjoyed the lamb chops and the hamachi sashimi! For dessert we got the ice cream pie and the cheesecake, both delicious! I feel bad I don’t remember the servers name but service was great! "Best dinner we’ve had all week and really glad we got the chance to come in! We had the veggie tempura roll (super good), ahi poke, fish n chips, fish tacos, fish sandwich, and a few drinks. Everything was delicious. Owner and his team are all really friendly. He sat down and told us stories of the last few years in Kauai. Definitely must go if you’re looking for somewhere that has amazing food and service and isn’t overwhelmingly crowded like the downtown hanalei spots, plus it’s right on the water. One of the highlights of this week!"

"asked the personal what they suggested to get, and they said they could make most of their dishes vegan, except the aioli for obvious reasons. we have a Hawaiian dish and a khalia special, both came with a tonne tofu and avocado! very fillable, healthy and delicious! the personal knew exactly what vegan was, what made it so easy and accessible!"

"Food was good, could be more flavor but not the worst food ever. Honey walnut shrimp was good and had a nice pineapple twist, kind of hard to mess this meal up. Pot stickers were good but nothing to write home about. Shrimp fried rice was okay, have definitely had better. A gentleman ordering in front of me ordered an item and the price rang up higher than posted price, when he questioned it they said the price had changed then came outside and changed the price. That was not right they should have honored the advertised price for that gentleman. I almost walked away then. Taro boba drink was good, boba wasn't the best. Seems to be lacking flavor. I'm not a kikomen soy sauce fan. I love aloha shoyu soy sauce would be better if they had that brand."

"I do not recommend going to this place. I should have followed the reviews that say “if you have somewhere else to go, go there.” I would also add, if everywhere else is closed then go to foodland. As a vegetarian the limited menu for me was even more frustrating because not only was no effort made to accommodate me, but when I tried to offer suggestions, I was told the owner will not allow it. The “Al dente” noodles were cold and soggy. The others in my party got chicken and it was dry and lacked flavor. *Edit: I didn’t get the Diet Coke but I was informed that the “can” of Diet Coke was warm and the ice in the cup was almost 1/4 of the cup. I was also informed the chicken was cold. I’m adjusting the service to 1 star because of this. I also can’t make the food less. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food and there is a 18% mandatory tip. These would be fine if the food was good even. The one person in the party that came for sushi said it was “okay”. But they also said foodland sushi was really good, so maybe try both and see what you think. Vegetarian options: Ha. Yeah right. Parking: Shared with a lot of other places. Dietary restrictions: Ha. None that were offered."

"I'm not sure how this place has a 3.9 star rating. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 French fry, and my wife got a fruity looking drink. The burgers didn't taste hamburger. We aren't sure what it was. We didn't finish them. She ordered a cheeseburger and I got a BBQ burger. (The difference was ketchup and watery BBQ sauce) Her fruity drink was pink and looked like blueberries in the bottom. It tasted like strawberry quick mixed in skim milk. The fruit at the bottom wasn't blueberries and they had no flavor. Save your money! Find another place to eat."

"I am not sure how this pizzeria is still open. I had the most disgusting and expensive Pizza in my life there. Before ordering the Pizza, I asked how big the Pizza size was and they told me it's a 10 pizza that is sufficient for 2 person. I ordered the pizza to go and waited for almost 20 minutes. Of course they charged me upfront in case I complain. Once the pizza came, it was not even a 7 pizza and completely dry and burnt. I asked the barman, is that your 10 pizza and he told me yes what do you expect? I told him you guys should be ashamed of this kind of practice and ribbing off people/tourists like that and left the place. My advice specially to tourists, avoid this place. There are many other pizzeria places with much fair prices and better quality."
