"The best steakhouse in the East Cty. Period. We live in East County and it was always a ride to get all decent, special occasion restaurants until now. We've been in the steakhouse many times and every time we're completely satisfied. Unfortunately, I never noticed giving these people the props they deserve, I'm lame, I know, but I hope I can set it up tonight. You want a dark, sexy, old school, special occasion space to take your sweetness and enjoy an old school restaurant ambience, complete with live piano music? You have it here in Barona... that would be the perfect place to bring a prom date or perhaps ask for your loved one to marry you... and the prizes will not break the bank. Barona has several small restaurants in her casino and they are all good, but the steakhouse is crazy. It used to be the buffet, but when they closed the bingo room, they were moved down. What a great move....as another reviewer said, it really feels like you are in another place and not necessarily a casino type place. There are Mr. Jonathon, the piano player extraordinaire, who plays classical songs after classical songs, including inquiries. The room itself is beautifully decorated in subtle colors and lights and the stands and chairs are very comfortable. As soon as you sit, one of the employees brings water... flooded, fancy and not tap. Very quickly you will also receive a basket of bread with many different types, cracker bread and jalapeno bread are included and you will get real butter pats. We don't really drink, but the wine list and cocktail list looks tempting. Although it seems like all waiters are quite brilliant, Danny is the BEST. He told us tonight that he has been there since 1995 and in my humble opinion he is one of the best servers we have ever had the opportunity to be served by ANYWHERE. We started with a Jumbo shrimp cocktail (5 large shrimps) and because we know that the portions are so large, rejected a salad or soup. Instead, my husband ordered the royal cut of Prime Rib (rare and still attached to the bone), which came w/drilled vegetables and a baked potato. It was my day, so I ordered the 2 lb. live Maine lobster (if I got it naturally) and also filled with beautiful grilled vegetables and a baked potato with LOBSTER!!! Are you kidding? My husband's main nativity was a 5-star court. Delicate, red, even the well made pieces around the edges was juicy and tasty. My lobster (also 5 stars all around) was presented to me with the meat from the claws between the divided lobster and so much from this world in taste. Sweet, fresh, perfectly boiled and on the side... a small dish of butter sitting on a small candle so that it remained hot all the meal. The grilled veggies on both plates were tender and perfectly cooked and my lobster filled baked potato was flippy! Danny was attentive, but not intrusive and his customer service skills are quite perfect, we lacked for nothing during dinner and when was the last time someone asked you if they could refresh your drink with a smile on the face and it means? Hey, Danny! Thank you so much for acting as if you are really happy to have us there and spend our money. It made it very easy to leave a good tip... This is our special occasional restaurant and we will try to stay in our neck of the forest as long as the food and service continues to be A. The bonus is that when you finish eating you can get a bit of gambling and if you are lucky you will win as we do tonight. Oh, yeah, put on the front of the casino and use the parking service. They don't charge you a package like other casinos, you give the Valets just a tip... we tipped them well because they have a drive to get your car, but what first-class service around. IMHO Barona is really the BEST Casino in SD County and we were with them all. P.S...stop and visit the toilets near the Italian restaurant below, they are like something from a really upscale hotel or Vegas Casino."

"Our first visit to Barona Casino was a good experience. There was a huge amount of parking, plus a multi-storey parking garage. On the second floor of the parking garage, the elevator opens to the casino on the second level, where the area is a world of slot machines. Our goal for this trip was to try one of the four restaurants of the casino. On the floor of the casino, is a buffet area where the price of a ticket is $44.95 a person. On the floor there are three restaurants, an Italian steakhouse and the Plaza Grill. After seeing all the menus, we decided to choose Italian. The Italian steakhouse doors open only at 17:00. The Plaza Grill starts the service at 16:00 and makes our destination easy. When we entered and selected an open table, a waiter appeared with menus and an offer to get us drinks. Immediately after we ordered our drinks, the waiter said he'd be back and bring us our chips. Chips? Chips were not a choice but are considered part of the grill customer service. Our drinks and the unknown chips arrived in about 5 minutes. The chips in a basket are freshly made crinkle style potato chips, with a lateral bowl of onion diving. These chips were a pleasant surprise in taste and presentation. We waited no more than 10 minutes to get an order from Lobster Roll and a Sliced Roasted Turkey Sandwich. The Lobster Roll with French Pommes, Coleslaw and a large Dill-Pickelscheibe came and filled a large plate. The meal looked just like the menu image, and it increased the need to see my partner as it tasted. The Sliced Roasted Turkey Sandwich with Bacon Laced Potato Salad. The size of this cut turkey sandwich on wheat bread filled a 10-inch internal plate. I had experienced such a big sandwich. This sandwich and the potato side article are enough for three more pleasant lunches (see attached picture). Your lobster roll can be served two possibilities. It was ordered cold for this meal. If it were possible to get the lobster meat warm, they would have heated the lobster in warm butter. My partner reported that the sandwich was good, but it had too much mayonnaise. The excessive amount of mayonnaise reduced the lobster taste. If you go and choose the lobster roll, tell the waiter not to use much mayonnaise. Shall we go back? The answer is yes. For us, the journey is about 40 miles one way. Our waiter was Caesar. He was attentive, fast, and the answer question with enough details that the food fit what he said. He was also patient and pleasant when we spoke. If Caesar is an example of how all the others offer service in their staff, if this restaurant is closer, we would often visit."
