"To be honest I was surprised to read bad reviews about this place. May be I was lucky and this depends on how busy the place is. I went there because I stayed nearby and this seemed to be the only restaurant in the vicinity. I came quite late (21:30) on a weekday so was afraid that the kitchen would be closed. After a glance at the watch and realizing that I was alone, the waiter and the chef discussed something and the chef disappeared to make a meal, which was a pheasant. It was quite cold outside so I started with a portion of Marillenschnapps (apricot.) Here I would recommend apricot Schnapps over the pear one.The meal that arrived in 15 minutes max (probably due to the fact that I was the only eating customer) consisted of grilled pheasant fillet, wrapped in cabbage leaves, chestnuts, red onions and slices of something which looked like bread, but was soft inside, had herbal and slightly sweet taste. It probably was indeed bread, rather than Knoedel, but grilled or fried in a special way, which I believe contributed to the total success of the meal. The pheasant was very juicy, with nice texture and natural taste which was not contaminated with lots of spices or sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. While eating the pheasant I came across a piece of a shot pellet. Some people would get angry and complain, but I found that it added an authentic feeling, as if it were a hunters' tavern. It was dark, so I would not see much out of the window, although I could see the panorama of the evening city lights. I presume the terrace they have is especially nice during spring/summer time.In addition, I would say the prices were fair, so lower than in the city center, and the food was definitely worth the price. Comparing my own experience with other reviews, I would deduct that it is better to come there not during the busy time and not as a big party."
