"As we’re finding about small towns, there aren’t many places to eat. And even fewer that are interesting and quaint. Makes sense. They’re small towns after all. The receptionist at the Hotel recommended El Dos de Oros so we went there. It’s an unadorned building off the main road. Almost hard to see where to enter. Inside it’s a bit dark. The server was a bit curt, but ended being more pleasant. We began with Blue Moons – they were HUGE! (and we ordered medium . They provided a bowl of chips and salsa. Well, the chips were terrible (huge but terrible . They had a bit of a dusty taste (now why do places have salsa that’s good, even great, but awful chips?! . The salsa was fine (it was provided in a small decanter with small bowls to pour it in. Rather interesting feature . My wife and I shared their House Salad. We expected a regular salad. Nope. It was a most interesting salad combination of calabacitas-like hot (like steaming cooked vegetables (squash, broccoli, onion, bell peppers and salad (lettuce and tomato with a new unopened bottle of Wishbone bleu cheese dressing. We also shared their Enchiladas Souisa (three rolled tortillas filled with a lightly spiced shredded chicken, covered with a cream sauce . It came with beans covered with melted cheese and another ‘salad’ (shredded lettuce and sour cream . Not bad. Big servings. We left food on our plates (which is unusual . Next visit might try another place for comparison."
