"We started with the Potato Croquettes, which were incredibly creamy, and the bacon jam was just heavenly. For our main courses, we opted for the chicken and the duck, and every single bite was a treat! The dessert menu sounded amazing, but we were too full to indulge. "My kids are crazy about the sweet and sour chicken from the kids menu!!! I do think the noodles and rice could use LESS salt. Please reduce salt because it is way too salty. "Very impressed by this cozy Minze Hill Spot. Server Adrianna was great and was able to testify the quality because she is a fan of herself! always suspects when an employee says that I don't eat the scene out here is great for after work. I ordered the Pimento cheese. Who knew I was a fan and they had Kentucky Bourbon beer on tap, yp on tap. And it was on a Happy Hour special price. I stayed there to enjoy the view and finish some work on my laptop. Good to stop."

"The burgers here are always fresh and hot. My favorite is the Cheesy Burger. If you love cheese, you will love it too. I love the milkshakes. I just wish they wore spoons because some people do not have patience to use a straw. The staff welcomed everyone who came in. "Drive thru loudspeaker is broken; sat there for about 5 minutes before we drove to the window and the guy was just like his broken. (Can't have a sign? Our two frits were soggy, one was half full and the other was a quarter full. I thought that a Brat-Rind classic had no meat, but so little one could not taste it. The other Bratbeef classic would be the most pitiful sandwich I would have ever ordered if it wasn't for the first. The drinks were only 3/4 full. Oh, and we never have the Motz sticks or Mac n cheese we ordered. And there was only one person in front of us and one behind us, so it wasn't busy. I said two stars because the gyros, loaded pommes and mint shake were good. But we never go back."

"First timer here! I’m used to American style Mexican food smothered in cheesy goodness. I’m guessing this is more authentic Mexican food. I ordered a beef quesadilla and it was super small like taco size, along with rice beans and salad. It was decent but not amazing. I expected the quesadilla to be larger. My daughter ordered chicken poblano and she liked it. I really appreciated the attentive service and the atmosphere. The Mexican restaurant I normally have been to has put creepy skeleton pictures on the walls, so I‘be been looking for a new place. Taxco atmosphere is colorful and cute with authentic table decor. I loved it. I will give this place another try and order something g different. I hope to be able to update my review with 5 stars after another visit with amazing food."

"I have always loved Hawthornes choose to dine here whether for work or personal meals. I hadn’t been in a few weeks ordered take out tonight. 1 large pizza, Cesar salad, and wings. All were unfortunately inedible. I would’ve returned the food, but I live 45 minutes away and due to never having a bad experience before, I didn’t think to try the food before leaving after picking up. We truly believe whomever made the pizza simply forgot the sauce all together. There was no sauce on the pizza… At all, the wings were sparsely sauced, and the lettuce was bitter and wilted. My family and I agreed after 1 bite that this was so disappointing and unlike one of our favorite places. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be returning despite the kind service. The restaurant also had a very unpleasant smell. The quality care of the food has drastically decreased it seems."

"New to area and trying to find a regular place for pizza. Arrived at 6:30 and place wasn’t busy and many staff were busy cleaning. Ordered a slice and a sub; the pizza was a nice thin crust and had decent taste but was way too greasy, the sub wasn’t worth eating. When I received the order asked for my receipt but they said they couldn’t print one. Of the several places I’ve tried in the Matthews/Mint Hill area thus far, this was my least favorite."

The owner and waitress were the sweetest wonderful people and we got a sampler of the pulled pig, brisket and smoked chicken. Absolute heaven in your mouth. "I ordered through the app and the service was really fast. I got hushpuppies and stew. The hushpuppies were amazing, I liked the big round ones more than the long finger-shaped ones. I also ordered the Brunswick stew, which was good and hearty, although it was sweeter than I'm used to. I would definitely order it again. The only issue was that my order was for takeout and when I went to pick it up, the cashier seemed a bit distracted and forgot to give me napkins, butter, or a spoon. It's partly my fault for not asking for butter for the hushpuppies, but it's common sense to include napkins with each order and a spoon with a single dish. I ended up having to eat my meal without utensils. Just make sure to ask for napkins and utensils, as they may forget to give them to you."
