"The food and the view were great, the scallops in particular were incredible. We had to wait for a table for a while, which was fine given I knew it was first come first serve, but there was a table available that the host gave to a party who I guess had put their names down earlier but who said they were 20 minutes away. So I don’t totally understand how the seating policy works. I was mostly disappointed because I brought my partner to Morro Bay for a birthday trip and this was his birthday dinner, and I told the host who said he would tell the chef, so I thought there would be some kind of birthday dessert or something, but nothing came, and when I lingered a bit hoping that there would, the host came over again and very politely asked us about our meal but in a way that made my partner say “I think that’s code for we should probably leave now.” I was really bummed about not being able to do something for his birthday here. I would probably come back again for the scallops, I just don’t think I would try to have any important dinners here."
