"We had the Friday night seafood buffet. It was excellent. The shrimp sushi was good and there were two types of crab, Dungeness and snow. The prime rib was very soft and tender. There were two types of fish that was their specialty. Both the miso butterfish and the smoked salmon were made in-house, and they were the superstars of the buffet. For dessert, the lilikoi bread pudding was delicious. It was the perfect birthday dinner for my husband. Everyone can find something they like."

"Mud Hen Water had one of the more unique menus out of all the places we ate in Hawaii, with dishes that were an interesting fusion of Japanese, traditional Hawaiian, and many other cuisines.My favorite dish was the handmade pasta with venison, which was absolutely delicious and caused my wife to almost abandon her meal to try and eat mine. Hers was also fantastic, a crispy chicken dish that was tender, well-seasoned and really juicy.With excellent service, great food, and a laid-back atmosphere, Mud Hen Water is a strong recommendation for anyone in the Honolulu area looking for a unique dinner spot."

"I 'm a little upset right now. Just a little because these ladies aren 't going to take me out of my character at all. It 's New Year 's Eve and I 'm going to continue having a wonderful day but their behavior is disgusting and worth the review. My son and I were looking for something to eat on the way back from Waimanalo. We haven 't eaten here since Covid but we have given them a lot of business. Usually call in. Today I went in person. There were two old ladies cooking very slowly. They 'd glance up but never said one word. No hello, aloha, I 'll be right with you nothing. They continued to cook. I thought maybe they were just slammed for the day and someone would come take my order. I said hello. Nothing. I thought because they were old that they didn 't hear me. Silly me, I stood there a little bit longer because I 've been feeling a little under the weather and thought I just needed to speak louder. I asked hello can I order a little louder. One of the ladies said you didn 't order I said no but I 've been standing here for more than 10 minutes and you haven 't said anything. She threw her hands up and said well I 'm busy. These ladies were ignoring me. I said what; then say you 're not taking any more orders don 't just have me standing here and mumbling to each other hoping I leave. I don 't use bad language but they didn 't give a damn about my presence, me, an order, money nothing. Just old and rude. Please retire. Please do not give this place your business. I have never been treated this way and I 'm appalled. I went right over to Kim 's and got great service. I will never give these ladies another dime. What happened tonight was just shameful. When you run a business and you just don 't give a damn. No aloha. Just sick."

"Had an amazing dining experience with friends. Delicious appetizers to share…shrimp scampi, crab cakes and clams were all great! My main course was the Osso Bucco and it was spot on down to the marrow! Had their salmon piccata as leftovers next day and it was so tender and moist. "I stopped here on my lunch break with a friend not to long ago. After ordering our food, we sat down and waited for our names to be called. My friend noticed something on the floor and when we looked closer, we saw multiple maggots wiggling around and going in every direction. My friend told the worker behind the counter to raise awareness to the bugs presence and instead of the employee taking action to rid the bugs, the employee handed my friend a napkin to kill the maggots with her hands. Definitely, not a clean and fun vibe. Unfortunately, we had already paid prior to finding the maggots so when our food was ready, we obviously felt weird about food being prepared in such a maggot friendly environment and threw the food away. We left, feeling very uncomfortable and called to request refunds for our food. We were told only the owner was able to process refunds but not to worry because they will take down our information and we will surely get out refunds shortly. This never happened. We never heard back or got refunded our money. all around horrible experience, don’t go."
