"We're coming to North Conway about twice a year, so we were over there. This is not the worst place, but we will not be back to stay and it was not worth the money. We had come to White Mountain Hotel for drinks a few times in the past and decided to stay there this time. At first it was very loud. We were on the third floor so fortunately no sound from above, but the walls and doors are extremely thin. At 2:45 a.m., about 30 minutes, something went to the hall where people talked and a walkie talk went out. The view from our room was great. The sauna and the pool of women were both out of order when we were there. The restaurant was the most frustrating part of our stay. Two weeks before our stay, I informed the hotel by email that my husband and I had food restrictions. The person who replied that she would let the Food/Beverage Director know. (FYI, my husband is the food and beverage director in a high-end country club and has 15 years in the hospitality industry. He also has a culinary degree). We even wrote the restriction on any reservation we made (2 dinners and 2 breakfasts). When we came to the restaurant, the server said they could not accept our nutritional restrictions because it was a special Valentine's Day menu. I told him I was aware and let him know we had contacted the restaurant before the time. The FB director came by and said she never received the email, but saw that on the reservation we had set our restrictions (and apparently not interested). She went back to the chef who said he could do something by letting some things from salads and not giving us any appetizers. The price of dinner was $99 on the Prix Fixe menu, but if we added how much it would cost us normally, it was just a $50 meal, so we left and spent our Valentine's Day eating at pizza place that was more than accommodating. We ate the menu next night because we knew they had options for our food restriction, but it was disappointing (the cook 's cream fraiche was acidic cream from a squirt bottle). It was clear after 2 breakfasts, and a dinner that, although they have in several places that they have diet-restriction options, they are not at all cautious as we noticed when we were serving meals, the clear ingredients we had 't it could eat. We won't stay there again. I work for a travel agency so it was very disappointing that I cannot recommend a hotel with such a beautiful view of our customers. It is also disappointing that I had such great hopes for this stay, but it did not fulfill our expectations. One, although the spa is a guest room, the massage was very good."
