"A wonderful dining experience, in a lovely classic dining room and with food to match. We had the pressed duck (canard a la presse), which was excellent. We also had an “essence of chicken” soup to start, which was pretty much what you’d expect from the name, intensely chicken-ey, and a gingerbread spice soufflé with plum compote and tamarind ice cream, for dessert, which was absolutely delicious. Service was attentive and professional, just the right balance between friendliness and formality. I suggest that after dinner you go for a digestif in the hotel bar next door, which is small, cosy, and has a comprehensive and interesting cocktail menu."
