"We were driving from PA to Florida and once we hit South Carolina, we were HUNGRY! I looked up restaurants around where we were and I came across Crossroads BBQ. It was a quick drive off the highway so off we went. I was initially nervous going to this place because it seemed to be an all residential area and I kept thinking If this is out of someone 's home, I 'm not stopping. But we came to a very nice building, seemingly, in the middle of nowhere. I thought, those are always the best places, aren 't they? This place did not disappoint. We walked in and weren 't sure about the menu, but I think the guy behind the counter sensed that and offered an explanation. My husband and I weren 't too sure what hash was but both of us ordered the large plate and hoped for the best. Turns out, this is a South Carolina delicacy made from pork and served over white rice. The large plate consists of meat (pork), coleslaw(which we substituted for mac and cheese), pork rind, and hash. The pork had a delicious gold sauce on it and that was out at tables along with their red sauce(which I preferred). They also sell the sauces and the hash by the gallon. Everything was fantastic! I couldn 't finish my portion but my husband helped. Even though you get more hash than pork or mac and cheese, I still felt it was the perfect amount. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite. Our food came out quickly and was served in Styrofoam to go containers, so it 's nothing fancy but it is worth the trip. We are thinking about stopping there again on our way home from Florida!"
