"Gave 104 Main Public House a run for the first time last night 3/7/22). Building is nice. Great location. Clean inside. Overall a good, basic watering hole; nothing too special. Whomever prices the spirits, however, should consider the community and the customers likely to visit. I am a regular drinker of Blanton’s. I buy it in Maine for $52 a bottle. I’ve had it at higher-end places for about $18 a glass (two finger pour, neat), but again, at high-end, waterfront establishment. 104 charges a whopping $20 per glass (see attached bill). As you can see, their charging system is a little strange. I called back and asked for a better explanation and, in short, they charge $7 ea. for a “family” whiskey then another $13 ea. for Blanton’s because it’s “top shelf” — so $20 a glass. I don’t understand the $4 discount on my tab, but it did bring it down to $18 a glass, which, again, I would probably not make a fuss about at a high-end establishment. But at a local, grab a drink after work pub, I think they’ve out priced themselves. I will say that the service was great (I don’t mention names without permission in today's world) and, although I didn’t eat, the wings looked tasty. But I don’t sit at the bar to eat! And, unfortunately, I doubt I’ll sit at this bar again to drink because it’s too expensive for my wallet. I am all about supporting small business, but not when it negatively impacts my wallet. (Even though I bought a $35 hat! They must have bought the blanks at Gillette Stadium! I suppose in my case, it’s best to drink at home and shop Amazon!"

"Surprisingly, Chinatown is the first Chinese restaurant I’ve visited that didn’t offer tea; we were given glasses of tap water with ice instead, and tea wasn’t even listed on the menu! While soy sauce decanters were present at every table, they contained the high-sodium version (red cap), and I have come to prefer the so-called light soy sauce (green cap), which wasn’t available here. As for the food, it was decent, with some flavor. The orange sauce on my beef was a bit too thick, but the fresh orange zest added a nice touch. The beef itself was paper-thin pieces coated in batter; it was fried thoroughly but surprisingly wasn’t greasy or burnt. The few pieces of broccoli that came with it were nicely green and had a slight crunch. If I had mustard for my dumpling, I might have felt more positively about it. My wife’s garlic chicken was the standout dish between the two of us. It was flavorful, not dry, and not overly oily. The spring roll was a delightful addition, perfect for dipping in duck sauce. The garlic chicken included a good amount of water chestnut pieces, which helped counterbalance the uniform texture of the chicken. Overall, I felt fine after eating, with no need for a digestive aid when I got to the car, which is why I give this place three stars. Had I felt unwell, it would’ve rated a two-star experience. Ultimately, it’s a solid three-star restaurant, and we would likely return if we found ourselves in Topsham, craving Chinese food during lunch."
