"I certainly did not expect to find amazing seafood in the mountains of North Carolina. Whenever my husband and I go on vacation, we both spend a lot of time googling restaurants and reading the reviews, since we always plan on having at least one really, really good lunch/dinner. Maggie's Galley definitely delivered. I had the seafood casserole (shrimp, scallops, crabmeat in a creamy white wine and parm sauce, over rice pilaf. There were 2 sizes of shrimp in the casserole; jumbo (cut in half and popcorn size. The scallops were sea scallops. The crabmeat was generously mixed in, to the point that there seemed to be very little rice (which was fine by me. It came with a house salad with choice of dressing, and a chunk of garlic bread. My husband had the sampler platter with fried flounder and fried oysters. The flounder had a light crispy (non-greasy batter. The oysters had a different batter, but that was also light and crispy and non-greasy. He selected a twice-baked potato and collars for his sides. We also had fried alligator tail for an appetizer. Again, the batter was light, crispy and non-greasy. It came with a honey mustard dipping sauce. So anyone who is going to be in Maggie Valley, Sylva, Waynesville or Cherokee, do yourself a favor and check this restaurant out."
