"Munich is reportedly known for its excellent Italian restaurants. I can't attest to that because I've only tried two of them, but I can definitely vouch for Il Mulino for a change of pace when you feel like you can't stare down another schnitzel. The fixed menu is interesting and extensive, without being overwhelming. However, I'd suggest starting with the nightly chalkboard specials. Everyone in our party of four ordered from it, and we were all exceptionally pleased with our choices. Waitstaff was knowledgable and helpful, wine and grappa lists were excellent, and I found the stylish but understated ambience to be both relaxing and intimate. All in all, a 5-star experience."
