"While in Vienna, my husband and I were determined to try a Heuriger, a local wine garden. A waiter at another restaurant recommended this one as having the best food. It is not easy to get to -- it U-Bahn plus a cab or the 31 Tram to the end of the line - but if you want to see a have a true Vienna experience, this is hard to beat. The garden setting is absolutely delightful in nice weather - although be prepared for people smoking - and we were surrounded by locals meeting friends and celebrating special occasions. Although they do have an English menu, we heard almost no other English speakers while we were there. Ordering at a heuriger can be intimidating if you do the deli counter so we just ordered from the waitstaff off the menu. Stay true to the classics, like Schnitzel and you will not be disappointed. We tried both the house white and red wines and found them very quaffable on a hot summer night. All in all, we were delighted by our little local adventure."
