"What a wonderful place. I was in early due to traveling all day, so Refugium was not busy. As a result I received a high degree of attention from the staff, who were very professional and helpful and friendly. The menu included English descriptions for all items, which is a wonderful luxury that does not happen that often in Germany. Refugium has an excellent wine list from all over the world. I tried glasses from Germany and Austria. The food was fantastic. My sauerbraten was very tender with a nice gravy. The dumplings were light and very flavorful, and the cabbage was done up like an egg roll. Dinner also included a pear mulled in red wine. This was one of the finest meals I have had, and I hope to be back."
