"I have visited other Heurigen in and around Vienna but this was the first time at Zum Martin Sepp in Grinzing. I selected the Heurigen, the term for the typical Viennese restaurants that are named after the young wine (Heuriger Wein), due to its reviews...on Google as I wanted to show a Viennese tradition, including local folk music, to the guests. In order to qualify for such a description you need to produce your own Heuriger wine, something that tends to ocurr in smaller quantities. Service was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for food to arrive. Quality however was quite erratic. Of the 5 meat dishes, incl. Fried Chicken (Backhendl) 3 people complained about the quality of their meat, claiming they had eaten better quality Zwiebelrostbraten and Wiener Schnitzel elsewhere (too much sinews; bad luck or poor quality My pumpkin risotto was fine, almost too large a portion, the same goes for the Backhendl. For dessert we ordered Curd cheese dumplings (Topfenknödel). The apricot salad was quite good but the dumplings themselves too dry and, personally, I missed more of the curd cheese taste (I love dumplings or Knödel in general, and have enjoyed Topfenknödel elsewhere). The chocolate pancakes were quickly devoured by the kids! Drinks were fine. All major credit cards are accepted. The musicians unfortunately only played in the first part of the restaurant while we were present (bad timing on our part)."
