"YES! This is what food in Germany (or anywhere! should be. Simple, fresh and tasty. Although it was a busy Friday night, staff welcomed us with a good table and space for our nine month old with a Kinderstuhl high chair provided. This isn’t always the experience in any country but especially in Germany with no reservation it’s sometimes hard to find a space. We had a good table overlooking the terrace and street. We had steak, vegetables and potato they provided a small baked potato for our son. We had a desert each afterwards. The food was fresh and perfectly cooked (steaks correctly done, vegetables freshly cooked for a reasonable inner city price. The managers were very friendly and made sure everything was ok with our food and explained they had new seasonal dishes. The waiting staff were very busy, I guess the only improvement might be a quick check if we needed more drinks half way through the meal but in the other hand it is nice to be relaxed and have time to enjoy the food. No stars lost though as the overall experience and the staff are top! Would definitely recommend if you are visiting for Cologne. Nice trendy crowd, some people with dogs, some on their own, some bigger groups but a very friendly atmosphere. The German food revolution starts here!"
