"Decide to try something new and find this place! When I called the order, I did not realize that they turned the menu. The owner immediately sent me the menu and then called back to help and take order. Let me tell you, the food is amazing. We ordered lamb and bread, lamb and rice, Sambusas and Baklava. The ear was tender, the bread was clear fresh and homemade, rice was spicy and well seasoned. The Sambusas were also fantastic, fluffy crust and savory filling. Baklava was a great treat to finish the meal! The owner was so nice and friendly to take time to help me with menu and answer questions. I can't wait to place my next order!"

Love the food. Your rice with chicken or goat meat is a must. We drive 40 minutes to visit them once a week. Now among new owners, but still the same great taste. Very recommended.

Very delicious food and friendly owners every time I try something else and I just love the taste of genuine authentic experience, reminds me home. Prices are reasonable. Try the candy and it is easy in sugar and simply fine

"Often imitated, but never duplicated. South Union is the original ciabatta bread sandwich shop. I have been coming here for years and you can always count on the quality of the sandwich. I usually visit here about once or twice a month, but for about a year my office was just a couple of blocks away, so I was visiting once or twice a week. I slowly made my way through most of the menu, but hands down my favorite is still Sarah's revenge. This place gets busy quick, so you want to go before noon if you can. Even though dining area is spacious it fills up quickly."

"The Coup de gras after I ran the Des Moines Marathon: I went down to see Dirt Burger in downtown Des Moines. What I got was the best veggie burger no, the best BURGER I ever had. Why? It was muddy and savory, saucy and full of different textures. It was a perfect mouth. Like a big Mac, only without the disappointing patty and bread in the middle. I know you'll say I forgot and taste like meat. No. I know for some people the ideal burger is a meat patty with fat that runs down your arm. I understand. I have preferred a veggie burger, and I think that is more interesting with many impractical tastes, and it's health food except that with so many whole food ingredients it is somehow. But it felt really exhausting for me, especially when I recommended it with their real potato frits and the tiger sauce the staff. And she was right. As they once said on my beloved show boss! with Lenny Henry, I never had a liquid as good as in my life. They had vegan shakes that looked absolutely amazing, but I had no one to share, and I knew that I would be in pain after I had everything in... I'm funny too, but I had a granola in the hotel room I was pretty excited about. Anyway, all this and gluten-free as I ordered it on the GF reel. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I'm seriously jealous that Iowa has this joint, but it's all for the best as I would win 5 lb a week if this place was on the street."

"Love the restaurant had awful service at the end and took 30 min to get cashed out. Server struggled with bill and there was no manager support. Odd because it is very well run. Will definitely go back and hope the server gets more support/training. Awesome spot."

"we had reservations, but when we arrived, our table was not completely finished. the host was in constant communication about our table and offered to get drinks for us while we waited. once sitting, the waiting staff was great. the drinks were amazing and the food was delicious. we will definitely come back!"
