"Amazing location and great style. We have stayed at this property 3 summers in a row essentially since they opened (we were literally the first guests in one of their family suites). We keep coming back because of the great location and style/feel of the property we love the courtyard with the lawn games and the vibe and style of the property. We wish there was SOME acknowledgement of our loyalty (even just a welcome back would be nice. We also booked two back to back single night stays (which was less expensive for some reason than a 2 night stay). The lodge was wonderful. We enjoyed the weather, the lawn area and the restaurant. I have nothing to complain about. We found the location to be perfect to get to the location we were working and to shopping and restaurants in both Highlands and Cashiers.

This could have been a horrible experience turned around by great staff. Special shout out to Trinity for being amazing. First this place is more like a motel so definitely does not justify the price. I checked into a room on level 1 which appeared damp including the sheets. The housekeeping staff was quick to replace the sheets but the room in general had a smell which she couldn’t do anything about. Come Trinity she checked me into a level 2 room which was perfect. All rooms look updated which is a plus. Their Steakhouse is definitely worth a visit great good, great service!

I needed a getaway for two nights to get some work done. I'm glad I spotted the Skyline Lodge. This inn is an updated motor lodge up in the mountains near Highlands (about a 10 minute drive away. One of the best features is the pavilion a wide covered, open air structure. I worked there each day. Although it rained some of the time, I was sheltered. Nice and cool. The Oak Steakhouse was great. Very good service and food. This is definitely a place the local folks come to for fine dining. I would have liked included full service breakfast as opposed to picking up coffee and a pastry in the lobby.

"The hostess upon arrival was extremely short and borderline rude considering my large party arrived complete and prompt. Upon being seated our drink order was taken and cocktails arrived roughly 15/20 minutes following, appetizers were along the same pace and lunch entrees to follow. A lunch service of roughly 2 1/2 hours in a to put it lightly stale environment wasn’t ideal for a Saturday afternoon. Old Edwards reputation for elite hospitality missed the mark big time to put it as politely as possible. Won’t be returning."

"This was a Visit to the Outdoor Wine Bar at Madisons which is such a gem! I adore the atmosphere...the waterfall and plants add a great ambiance. The Service is solid every time! "When I think of eating out in Highlands, Paoletti 's is ALWAYS at the top of my list. Highlanders know that this is the place to take friends and family and those who are new to the area. Highlands has a terrific blend of high quality restaurants to choose between, but when I run into people who have once been through Highlands, they invariably mention that they ate at that Italian place . Paoletti 's has a fantastic and well varied menu, a terrific and well experienced wait staff, and an energetic ambiance. I have favorites that I order off of the menu (white clam sauce linguine (grilled jumbo sea scallops but the nightly specials (which I do try on occasion challenge those favorites. Also, two favorite appetizers are stuffed dates and stuffed artichoke leaves (not always on the menu, but you can ask for them! . I haven 't been early for the small plates menu, but I plan to try it very soon. My only disappointment is that they are not open for lunch! I will offer one hint if you are booking a reservation on opentable.com ... book well in advance and if you are looking for a reservation in the 7:00 time frame, call the restaurant directly. Do yourself a favor and don 't miss out on Paoletti 's if you are in Highlands."
