"I live on the east side of Bakersfield. Athenas is on the west side. It’s not in an area I normally frequent. I found it and it look like a little hole in the wall restaurant, but I had a meeting about 45 minutes after I found it, and I was starved.When the food reached my table, I was amazed at how fantastically tasty it was. I use the past tense because the food did not live long on my plate.Anyone who is interested more in the food that in the location, will not be disappointed with Athena’s.The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because of the location."

First time here and we were disappointed. Salad is fresh, Greek potatoes have good flavor, gyro doesn’t have much flavor, spinach pie is good, baklava is good, my husband had a sandwich with beef chunks and it was terrible…

There is no dishonesty here, 1star is my opinion on how I felt I was treated when I was there and I wouldn't recommend anyone being a customer of yours (dine in or pick up) . I don't want to argue with you about it. Do you remember? So why even argue about. Guess I don't have the right to express my opinion on my experience

This is a must eat place to go to food is delicious had cabbage rolls and spaghetti with a bolognese sauce just absolutely wonderful and the baklava and everything is made from scratch authentic the owner is a sweetheart found this place by watching Diners Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network.I drive a truck out of Troy Alabama and I'm always searching for Tripple D locations. When in Bakersfield California this will be my go-to place to eat for now on.

"I was in the city to see the mandible flowers and came over this place on yelp. I was surprised and excited to find here a real Caribbean restaurant (purchased, I know very little about bakersfield). first eat. we ordered the Ruck chicken plate. they get jerking, tearing and raging, carving and fried plantains for $10. the chicken was moist and they can really taste the seasoned. the best part for me was the tangy sauce that he poured on the huh. I wish I had asked extra. they have a few tables outside with sun umbrellas they can sit and dinate, but most of them went through while we were there. barrington is the boss and the name of this hole in the wall. he was incredibly friendly. I couldn't decide if the brown stew chicken or the jerk chicken so he gave me a rehearsal. we had also been on the road and on the road and about for almost five hours and had to use the toilet room really badly. he was friendly enough to use our private bathroom that really saved us the day. He said he cooks traditional food like that since he was a young boy. his passion really showed up with every interaction he met. pity, it's a three-hour drive from me. If I'm ever back in town, I'll definitely come back to try curry or the ochs tail. my mouth watered now!"

"I must admit, I was snobby and skeptical about sushi in Bakersfield and JIN Sushi proved me wrong and I'm better for it! I'll come back and bring more people. If you visit Bakersfield, you need to try JIN Sushi. It is really good sushi, great ambience, friendly service and affordable prices! If you're from Bakersfield, what are you waiting for? You have a phenomenal sushi bar under your nose. I sat at the bar and our server was so knowledgeable and friendly and very efficient. It was also a busy night, but I still felt no gap in service quality. I tried Nigiri and Rolls and they were all amazing. Some of my favorites were the Mackerel Nigiri, the salmon roll and the Baked Scallop Roll. My only regret. 1. I did not record our server on a Blue Fin Tuna special for this day. Life is too short. I'll do it next time. 2. I didn't know there was House Sake (warm or cold) until I had already ordered a bottle. But it would have been nice to try Jin Sushi. 3. My stomach had no more space to try other things on the menu. Next time Jin, next time..."

"it was a small family business. the food was fast and tasty the service was great. only what I did not like was a woman who had brought a dog and sat near me. I am allergic to dogs so that I do not enjoy the rest of the meal. I could understand if they would sit them on the terrace, but a dog in the restaurant was rough. the service was great and eating authentic. try the garnel enchiladas."

"Its lively place for a sandwich, music was overlauded, although the atmosphere was energetically so a good place to meet with someone and the food is quite good its not excessively strong in taste and is not hard on the stomach, so its a funny little morning spot to go."

"Its one of those hole in the wall places that just have your jaw drop whole drooling. We got the pupusas lunch special, I normally get the queso ones, but they had so many more options then other places. The con todos are beyond delicious, my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I was only able to eat one. They also had specialty ones with asada and chicken shrimp. But those aren't part of the special. They do charge extra for more cabbage and salsa, but I get it. Definitely coming again to try the other pupusas and all their other menu items. Oh also the Pupusas con todo came out beyond hot and had me gobbling it down still lava hot. Sooooo mouth wateringly good. The server was beyond sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. The area it is in, is a shopping center with tons of things to do. They also have a full bar and happy hour, with a juke box and tvs to watch sports. It was day time when we went, so I cant tell you how the parking lot is at night."
