"Great service! Can't say much for the beer because I didn't try anything, but the food I tried was pretty good! I had the Crab Rangoon Fried Chicken with Fritten. The chicken was excellent! Very juicy. The Pommes were also pretty good. Not the best at all, but very far from the worst with some crunch. The frits came with a pretty standard ranch diving sauce. I also tried the BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce was honey-based with some spice on it. I'd get it back! I tried her root beer too. It was rather a soft vanilla taste. I prefer more of a bite so it wasn't my favorite, but still really good for a root beer. All in all, I would recommend Barn Town Brewing for her fried chicken and decent beer va...

Great atmosphere, great beer and good food. I had the burger of the month that was the Glazed State Fair Burger. This was a perfectly boiled burger with fried jalapeños and glazed donuts as the rolls, it was absolutely amazing. I washed it with a Slim Shandy and an Iowa Gold Ale.

Freaking amazing! I have the chicken ornaments that are the best in the area, and now I think I have one of the best burgers with an amazing Bretzel bread and Speck Marmelade! Did I mention the Pommes? This place hand cuts their fries daily and they are made to perfection! Not in Pommes? No worries get their max and cheese! You won't regret it!

"The food is spectacular, but the staff are really the best part of this facility. And to round it off, they are more than happy to accommodate food allergies! Recently, I went here for date night with my significant others when we saw that the reviews were great and we are in Waukee. Sometimes we can have problems with eating because we both have nut allergies. After informing our waitress (I regretfully you don't remember her name) of our nut allergies she offered to speak directly with the chef to ensure that there were no nut products in the dishes we ordered. And in addition, they even used a difference cook top location and utensils to prepare our food. When we talk about our nut allergies to restaurants, we often feel bad how we can feel it as we difficult or high maintenance, but this waitress explained that she was actually used to it because she had a roommate with allergies at one point. And wanted to make us very clear that we were NOT difficult at all and she was more than happy to help with our accommodations. This facility has been my business for years to come thanks to the fantastic waitress and chef. If the owners/manager read this. Make sure you recognize her how she really went beyond and beyond."

"By far the best Chinese food in the state. Coming from the east coast, for almost 10 years as Iowian inhabitants, I was looking high and low for this perfect taste. My wife and I stumbled over this restaurant and have not gone to another Chinese restaurant ever since. That was three years ago. I can admit, and my friends at home would freak out when they hear me say that, but Shanghai is by far the best Chinese food in which I have ever sung my teeth. Not only is the food delicious, but the service and the atmosphere is at the point, that is also something else this restaurant has over my East Coast favorites. East Coast Peeps are not always the most friendly. I recommend this restaurant to everyone! You miss it if you don't try it."

"The restaurant is a charming little spot with some of the best food in Des Moines. The Mediterranean dishes are fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The service is friendly and efficient. My partner and I ordered the chicken platter, which came with pita bread, hummus, rice, chicken kebabs, grilled vegetables, and salad. The portion size was generous and the kebabs and veggies were perfectly grilled with a delicious smoky flavor. For dessert, we had baklava which was also delicious."

"I've had the best lunch for a long time. I thought this was a new restaurant, but I found out that they were moving, but they were founded in Des Moines for 18 years. The humus was probably the best humus I had in Des Moines. We stopped shortly after the lunch break, so we got some more attention so it was a bit slower, which was nice. Karren (I think her name was) told us how to prepare her food, which was a nice touch. Very friendly. I am very pleased to have found this restaurant that is close to my office. It is a small, modern feeling and the food is a good quality. Not the frozen processed stuff you find out. I would recommend starting with hummus and ending with baklava with Turkish coffee. We had the Jalapeño chicken sluice and the garlic chicken sluice. Both extremely tasteful. Chicken was very tender. I would also recommend following a side of the hot “sauce”. Went great with the humus and I also added a little to my packaging. I'm definitely back."

"WOW! This BBQ joint is the BOMB!! Especially for my palate. It took 2 hours drive/driving in search of some good food and landscape. By Google I saw Big Al's BBQ. I looked at the reviews for Big Al's and there were a lot of bad reviews. When reading the bad reviews, someone mentioned Kue'd Smokehouse. So I made a decision to review them. I must say I was very impressed!! The staff was great. Especially the Host Travis. He was great to talk to the story of this BBQ joint. The food was delicious!! I had a ribbed plate with the TIP still attached and beef ends with some sides. I took home a pound of smoked chicken wing for the Super Bowl tomorrow. I can only say I'll pay you a visit again! And soon."
