"Can't say enough to evaluate Bascule. Were invited to a friend's birthday dinner and each of us had our eyes on the first bite of our respective dishes. People, this is a must to visit when in Ashtabula or even when you drive down (like us from downtown Cle! loved vegetarian dishes and drinks alike. The rice pilaf tastes so good! The starter plate served us super with the variety and quality of food. Super happy and happy that it has made it the best restaurant in Ashtabula: Thank you for an unsurpassed experience!"

I felt like I stepped back in time, the atmosphere was so welcoming. Everyone at the restaurant was so helpful. This time we tried the pea shoot salad, which is now my favorite thing. The drinks, food, and dessert were out of this world, everything as always is at Bascule. See you again soon!

We had a very tasty meal. The atmosphere was very picturesque. Our Ryan server has taken care of us. We were impressed by everyone and John the Chef/Proprietor came to our table to ensure that everything was prepared for our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon.

The food and service here was top notch! Our friends and we recently got the Erie Dining Group maps. We decided to start at the top and get through the list. Bascule Bridge Grille was the first place on the list. Our server was Moe and honestly he was the best server each of us ever had. He was super personal and helped us choose what to eat! "This place has very good sea fish that is freshly caught and well prepared. The interior/atmosphere is decent and has an old school vibe, the facilities were clean, and they have parking back from the street. The service is good; our waitress was polite and attentive. We went to a late lunch in the afternoon and there was hardly anyone. Probably gets busy during dinner. My only complaint was that the drinks options left much to be desired. They didn't even have it on their menu. Also the Covid protection was good; Personal masks, separators between most tables etc."

"It is a wonderful thing when you come to a restaurant and find good food, great staff, beautiful location and a willingness to work together to make you meal a success. All stars are in line with Fitzgerald. Patrick went through the menu. Explained sizes, quantities and options. Then he helped us pair our entree decisions to a wine, including a sample to choose a large selection. The same wonderful process took place at Dessert, where we were introduced into a sherry that was wonderfully well paired with a sampler plate of locally made chocolates that was just the thing to make a great experience. You should try it!"

"I was here twice (since dinner, once for lunch) and both experiences were amazing! The steaks are perfectly cooked and worth the price. Page options are plentiful, and it was hard to decide what I wanted to try. Brunch offered a good mix of sweet and savory options — I went with the French toast in a caramel pecan sauce with blueberries, while my husband chose shrimps and grits with a fried egg and lardons. Both of us enjoyed our meals, despite the choice for completely different options. Brunch seems to be less crowded, but I would definitely recommend reservations for dinner as they were so full that they had to turn walk-in customers away."
