"Everything I hoped for in a Northwoods dive! Friendly service, great jukebox, friendly people, cold beer and a true Northwoods atmosphere. You can't judge a book by it's cover. When you look at this place from the road it looks rundown. Please, go in and enjoy! The bartender/ server /cook was awesome. We had a party of 15 with a lot if kids. He didn't even flinch. We were patient and took advantage of the $0.25 PBR draws, the Foosball table, the pool table and the jukebox. We ordered the special Duck Wonton special. They were delicious! Great place. Jeff really cares about his customers. Usually a nice casual spot to grab a fish fry and a beer (and they have a few good ones on tap), but on some nights (New Years eve, 4th of July) they throw awesome parties with live music.

Came here with my family for Friday fish fry after reading (and hearing) numerous good reviews, and we were not disappointed. I ordered the all you can eat fried haddock and selected the coleslaw, french fries and baked beans for my sides. The fish came out a short time later and was lightly battered and well seasoned. The sides were all outstanding, homemade and delicious as was the tartar sauce. The baked beans were a stand out, with some hints of bbq and smokey goodness. My companions tried the garlic mashed potatoes and potato salad and enjoyed both as well. "The story here is the main attraction. So cool to see the memory and bullet holes from this infamous night. The food was about what we expected, above average, but not great. Drinks were good and higher than most other local facilities. If you are in the area, it is worth stopping."

"It was an extremely busy night. This was the first place in the area after 6 tries that had a table open. We realized once we were there that they were extremely short handed which is the norm post-pandemic. Only the bartender/server and the cook. They compensated by closing off some of the dining area and limiting the menu to only pizzas. Very, very smart. So we ordered pizza. The server was amazing keeping up with tables and bars. The pizza came quickly with nice thin crust and lots of ingredients."

"We went here on vacation last year and had a great time/experience we wanted to go again this year and make it a tradition however we were treated so poorly by our server…Patty…. That we will not be returning. We were looking forward to going here all year and to celebrate my husbands 40th bday. Patty told us the specials , rudely brought us our drinks and then began to take our order abruptly acting annoyed if any questions were asked. I was actually scared to place my order and my children’s orders. When it got to me I asked her to please leave off the “parsley” sprinkled on top of the fettuccine as we knew our son last year did not like it as much on. She rolled her eyes and said “ I can’t , I won’t be able to get there in time and they’ll still put it on” and then said “ what and why is he allergic??” It was not ok to treat paying customers this way. When food arrived of course it was on there she almost did it purposely at that point) I told her and she began to grab my child’s plate away when another member of our party didn’t even get their food yet. I had to pull the plate back and say “ no that’s ok, he’ll just eat it”. She acted so angry about it I was scared she would take it back and remove herself with her fingers or spit in his food. She gave me the nastiest stare down when I said “ this is not ok to be treated like this”. We were nervous to ask anything else. Why is it such a big deal to not put the “ garnish” on top while it’s done? There should be a button or note button in the computer? All of a sudden we had a new server come who was sooo great, friendly and nice. We were relieved! I’m sure the other server went to her and complained about us although we did not do anything wrong. It’s appalling that at such a nice, fun place that isn’t cheap by the way.. we could be treated like that. We definitely did not want to stay and celebrate with dessert. I really enjoyed my cod. It was delicious. Other family members enjoyed their food also but the food came cold and the perch had bones in it. We told the new server the issue at the end and she apologized multiple times to us and was just so nice! It stinks that the whole experience had to be ruined for all of us. We were there special and we just didn’t get the good server at the beginning. Beware to ask any questions and just get what you get and pay for it! I really hope our new server got a bit of the 50 dollar tip we left! Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place."

"What a great meal! I always feel that truly unforgettable meals have a slow, uniform pace and it should make all sense and flow together. This is an at least 2 hours experience, but it is worth it. Everything from Cajun **** to whisky butter sauce bread pudding is very big! I tasted 4 of the ducks at our party of 6 and they were all stellar. You have to try. If you are a tad skeptical of Cajun cuisine in the North Forest of Wisconsin... Don't! I was born and raised in Louisiana and the flavors are all authentic. Everything was amazing!"
